spcfan....you have very good instincts and/or information. Remember one can offer the redshirt possibility but the player needs to agree. Not an easy decision.
Again, insiders (read staff) are very high on Hawkins. Hope he sticks with it and gets through the year.
Let's see what happens to Fields. Wyche is full of "potential" as was/is Chazz. However, he will be on a learning curve. Needs to get his outside shot off much quicker. Also needs to adjust, as all point guards who penetrate, that many of their drives will be rejected at the D1 level. That said think Wyche will be smart enough to drive and dish... but still a learning curve. Also need to see his man on man defense....Fields and Patterson both excel in that area.
Givens, for me, are Dominique and Adams. As for the rest, I'll wait and see.
As someone posted, competition for playing time will be intense.

Listed at 6'6". Probably closer to 6'4", based only on what I have read.
We've gotten pushed around inside recently. Doubt that will happen this year.

How to resuscitate a program: Seton Hall - The hiring of these coaches was entirely coincidental to the recruitment of these players. I guess if you are desperate, well...........
1) Before Willard agreed to hire Lincoln High School coach Dwayne "Tiny" Morton as an assistant, most recruiting analysts believed the highly touted Isaiah Whitehead was going to choose St. John's over Seton Hall.
2)In April, Willard landed former Northwestern signee Jaren Sina just weeks after hiring the assistant coach who originally recruited the consensus top 100 guard to the Wildcats prior to Bill Carmody's firing. In August, Willard nabbed top 75 power forward Angel Delgado at the same time as word broke that Seton Hall was hiring his assistant coach with the Dominican National team.
3)With Oliver Antigua coaching four-star power forward Angel Delgado for the Dominican Republic team in August, the two built a strong relationship and Antigua delivered. He was hired as an assistant coach weeks after the commitment of Delgado. This also led to the commitment of three-star guard Khadeen Carrington, who was AAU teammates with Delgado. Antigua had coached plenty of New York Lightning players before during his time at St. Raymond (NY), so the connection made sense. On Thursday, Seton Hall's class made history.

Not sure any other avenues were available to Willard. He's buried permanently at the bottom of that league sans some bold moves. So, "X" instead of "Y" carries around a clipboard........no biggie. Smacks of opportunism all around, I agree, but I am 100% sure a lot worse goes on during the recruitment of highly touted players.

From the Metro Classic in Union-Sounds like our kind of guy......
"Two high-academic recruits in the 2015 class are power forward Sammy Friday of Hudson Catholic (NJ) and wing Isaiah Still of Union Catholic (NJ). Both had big days on the hardwood. Friday is an undersized post player that does a great job of boxing out and giving his team second chances with offensive rebounds and putbacks. He holds two scholarships from Holy Cross and St. Peter's with interest coming his way from Monmouth, Marist, Iona and Quinnipiac."

In recent HSBI, Konchalski lists Boone as a 4, but also as a PQ. Nice recruit if we can get him in
