Boone with 24 , including two threes , and 7 rebounds in easy Lincoln playoff win on 2/27 ; then 21 in another easy one on 3/2 . He is impressive leaper . Another W and then plays in Barclay's Center on Saturday for city championship , I believe .

Saw TOC semis other night. Some observations:Roselle Cath guard Gist is a very nice player quick, good handle decent shot. Bullock has no position an undersized inside player like Markese not as good on offense. Silva didn't show much that night but he is long and athletic. Briscoe may be the most overrated player I've seen in a while. Seems lazy, does not work on offense or defense, takes lazy shots and has a poor body lots of baby fat on arms, legs and gut. Give Hurley the St Joes 5 and he wins a national title. Big Towns is more Mel Counts than Patrick Ewing and Coach Cal will need to toughen his nose some.Marquis Townes is a bit like Burke, but probably stronger but less quick and not as good a leaper. Strong to basket but Burke's J is better. Liked Tyree quick athletic and strong. A slasher right now. Owens is a frosh I think and with all the other talent is very deferential but is a cool customer now. Linden's Moore is really big but soft. Doesn't really know how to post Lots of learning ahead. Livingston is a really nice guard. A leader, good defender and shooter. Smallish maybe 5-11 but I like him. East Side's Sanogo may have a hard time contributing at SHU as a frosh because he's really skinny. Quick and quick jumper. The kid going to S. ALA had a horrid night and showed nothing, except in pregame I watched him drill NBA three after NBA three, but in game did zilch. Liked both guards some. Point was quick but had no shot. Second guard was quick, strong had some offense but preferred going to basket. I think SP may have offered M Townes and he probably is a MAAC wing. Don't know whether that's still on the table or not. Should keep an eye on Tyree and Livingston

Good hearing in person comments. Don't think we offered M. Townes. If you're talking Raven Owens, he is a senior and signed early with Canisius.
Staff high on the Foreman kid, a 6-1 Jr. SG out of Construction in Queens.

We offered him. He's a 2015 recruit. Appears he may have an offer from Hofstra as well.

I stand corrected on 2 counts. Correct about Owens. My memory of preseason write up was faulty. Also without program things are hard to sort. I believe one of the guards I liked on ES is going to S. Ala. The kid I thought was the recruit is not, but he still was making those 3's in pregame

From an old post and an old poster on Hawkins.......
“Rodney is a unique player because he’s a stretch 4, a guy who can play the 4-man and also play the wing,” said Mt. Zion coach Rodrick Harrison. “He has the ability to hit the outside shot and also get through the post to the bucket. I think he’ll be great with Saint Peter’s. He’s like a hybrid tight end in football. He’s one of those guys, a 4 that’s athletic, skilled and tough enough to play the wing. He’s a mismatch for a lot of 4-men in that [MAAC] conference.”
Hawkins, who said he has achieved a qualifying SAT score, is averaging around 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Warriors, who are headed to Florida this weekend for a tournament at IMG Academy. Saint Peter’s began pursuing Hawkins early in Mt. Zion’s season. “They called and texted me every day,” Hawkins said. “I just looked into [the school] more and looked at how many [players] they had graduating this year, how many underclassmen they’re bringing in.” Hawkins said he’s looking forward to “playing out of town, playing on a bigger stage in a new environment. … [The Saint Peter’s coaches] can expect me to keep going hard, never giving up on the team and keeping the school pride.”

Fun thread to read through. This is still pinned so I figured I’ll throw up a possible 23 recruit. Hoping this is the kid who was on campus last week. Would be a nice get for Coach Bash and help establish our new Philly pipeline.
