I think the roster looks pretty good but I have two concerns. Only four big bodies, that is not enough and outside of Randolph, can anyone make an outside shot? I am sure we will be tough and athletic and will play a downhill style. We need good shooting be a top of league team. Our rebounding per player may be a saving grace.

Thanks Youngalum. The Wabash Little Giants? That would be interesting. Wabash is D3 but they are a pretty good basketball team. Brainiac and wealthy school.

DW I was concerned about the lack of big men last year but we made do with Sow, Roberts, Hogue, & Corey. It does get scary when fouls add up and hopefully everyone can stay healthy. The Rider transfer is supposed to be a 3 pt threat and hopefully Bland can become more consistent.

Disturbing that Morris and Williamson are our only two presumed power forwards (Sow, by necessity, is our center). Neither of the two transfers has demonstrated much scoring ability in their previous stops. Likewise, with Tanksley injured, we have little experience and no prior program assimilation at the point guard position. Sanders comes with some hype, but is new and has had little time to learn this key leadership position. I expect to see further growth from Sow, but in addition to the inside scoring concern, where will the ball handling and passing come from to complement and assist this hoped for growth down low.

Remember Washington's growth as a player from year to year and hoping we can get the same from Zeigler. Washington had no outside shot in his first year, and he became a consistent shooter the following year. Is it too much to expect something similar from Zeigler?

Zeigler's athleticism alone could certainly lend itself to Washington-type development year-on-year. Let's hope the young man really put in the work this offseason.

If Zeigler worked as hard as Washington did last summer, SP will be fine. PS85 is correct about Washington his freshman year. He developed a very nice stroke and was a banger inside. Next man up mentality now folks. Go Peacocks!

I agree Ziegler has a high upside. That said, Corey’s paradigm one year improvement was truly outstanding. In MAAC history, I can only remember one other incumbent 🦚 player exhibiting the exponential improvement displayed by Corey….that would have been Alex Roberts jump from his junior to senior year….over 35 years ago!
Houge and Corey didn’t pass (literally) much at all, but they made up for it by being, respectively, very good and outstanding one on one players.
We’ll be looking for front line scoring, for sure.

Just came back from soccer match which we lost 3-0 to umass Lowell. They were just better. But of importance for this board is that the basketball team showed up with coach cipriano. I counted 13 bodies and no casts boots or crutches

TJ Morris has signed...big pickup

If TJ Morris has signed, who is not on the roster that was previously believed to be? Should we start guessing? Is it one of the newcomers or a returning player? Based on the photo, I know it isn’t Randolph or Roberts. The roster is a better kept secret than the government codes for a nuclear launch.

On paper, this late signing of TJ is just what the doctor ordered. Small forward at the MAAC level who can fill it up.
Great news; let’s see how it plays out. 👍
