I’m hearing that we are still waiting to hear about waivers for Clarke AND Reid. If that’s so-and I’m not sure of it- I think that’s one too many. So either that’s not so or I miscounted or someone is missing from the list we’ve been accumulating. In other news I saw my first Hamilton summer league games last night. Saw St. Peter’s play both hightstown and Trenton Neither of which were very good. Prep played without both Rosa and Santiago who are playing for Puerto Rico on a u17 international in turkey. Also played without Austin Spencer. Prep had one kid about 6’3” who showed good 3point range and good speed and very good ups. Again I apologize for half info as names are hard to come by. But as summer goes along I usually manage some id. Not that it matters because frosh recruits are as rare has hens teeth these days. Hoping to see linden then Hudson and Patrick school later when more full rosters show up

Thanks for the update Figgy. Great to hear Reid may still be in play. Just speculating but possible one of our newbies is a walk on or Oumar is on a prove it year.

If both do get a waiver we are 1 over the limit. I would love to have Reid back frankly. I thought with the coaching staff openings if he didn’t land anywhere and he wanted to do it he would be perfect for one of the jobs. He was a coach on the floor extension of Mason on the floor. We will know by the end of the summer if we get either one back or add another recruit if there is a spot left.

I agree. Great to see Reid and/or Clarke back. Not sure why the delay by the future extinct NCAA, but I hope it comes to fruition. As to Oumar, zero chance he returns. Both Reid and Clarke will be huge to leadership and success. Go Peacocks!

By any means, we should be a very competitive team, maybe even better than competitive depending on how our new recruits perform which is a crapshoot. So far, I like what I see on paper. Can't wait for the season to start again. Hopefully we will make the NCAA Tournament 3 out of the last 4 years.

The typical "cone of silence" from the Athletic Department keeps us long timers guessing at what may be. But, here's what we know. PG - Jaheim Tanksley PG - Bryce Eaton SG - Armoni Zeigler SG - Elijah Perkins SG - Brent Bland SG - Eric Morgan, Jr. SG/F - Marcus Randolph F - Jaquel Morris F - Zaakir Williamson F - Mouhamed Sow C - Stephon Roberts Possible returnees: PG/SG - Roy Clarke C - Oumar Diahame If the last two come back, that would be a roster of 13 and it would appear that we are done. So I don't believe that Reid will come back. I agree with this roster in real time. Couple of things, if the NCAA grants a waiver for Clarke (what the hell is taking so long? He needs to take it to the same federal judge that granted Durugordon and the Manhattan 33 year old, 8th year player), that would be 13. What's interesting if Reid does come back and decides he would rather play than coach, that would be 14, assuming Diahame does pull a Willis Reed (very underrated center in NBA). Go Peacocks!

latigo - keep in my there is a big difference between a NCAA waiver and a lawsuit against the NCAA to get extra eligibility.
Considering the courts ruled against the Ivy League transfers at St John's getting another year, I don't see any way that Reid gets another year in a similar scenario - the two Ivy kids basically were saying that everyone got a "free" year in 2020-21 when they didn't play because the Ivy schools didn't allow athletics. Reid is in a similar scenario, he didn't play in 2020-21 but he played a full year at Coffeyville in 19-20 and the last three full years. The Manhattan kid is ridiculous to me, but he had one season left after Coppin St and has been injured the last three seasons, so the NCAA just keeps extending his eligibility clock due to medical hardship to allow him to play a full 4th season, so that's the difference with him and Reid.
Clarke is a different scenario. Played one year at West LA CC, one year at St Francis, and last year at SP. Since he graduated in 2019, my guess is he needs a waiver to extend his eligibility clock so he would be given 6 years to play 4. Much more likely IMO since he has only played 3 years.

Saw St. Peter’s play last night at Hamilton pk. Rosa is back and he is very good. Super quick first step and going to hoop. Scored from 3 seemingly at will. Very good ft shooter too. Biggest drawbacks are that he is not overly tall- maybe 6’1” and he doesn’t have big ups so he didn’t finish well through contact but most times he just blew by people. The other kid I like there is that 6’3” -4” kid whose first name is Derick. Don’t have last name yet. Hudson has a really good but thin guard also. Quick can shoot very well but showed a little immaturity taking criticism from coach. As a throwback Snyder is actually pretty good. No pros but a good hs team. Will see Hudson start Peter’s and seton hall in a marathon night Thursday.

Figgy, great scouting and thank you. Few questions... is this AAU ball or kids playing for their high school team? From what you described about Rosa, sounds like Iverson. I like the way you noticed the guy that "doesn't finish well". You are a great scout. Reward yourself sir and have a frosty libation on me. Last question, any chance St Peter's U signs any of these guys? Go Peacocks!
