Had the opportunity to watch the Manhattan/Stoneybrook game. Looked so much like a typical SPU game. MC most likely will be missing Alvarado as well as Beamon as Alvarado was in a soft cast due to a sprained ankle in the first half. MC defense was sterling under all conditions and when you consider the level of Stoneybrook, they could severely challenge our offense. They them selves look very offensively challenged with the exception of Brown who could dominate us. Just makes for a potentially very ugly game and a true measure if our offense is improving. Of course whole different world if Beamon and Alvarado play.

This one has 50-49 written all over it. If Conley and Jackson can prevent SPU from being dominated inside, which will not be easy, "we" have a good chance to steal a game that looked like a sure "L" going into this season.

Snoozefest @ the half, 27 all. No Beamon or Alvarado.....pressure is on SPU to protect home court here.

Tough, tough to watch. SPU down 4 with 4 left.

Poor FT shooting our Achilles Heel. Down 4 with 2:55 to go. Jaspers subs beating our guards off the dribble, setting up multiple, wide open three point shots. We are losing to an undermanned team with limited talent. Bad effort so far by SPU.

9-17 from the line in the second half. That's the story, in a nutshell, so far. Ffrench 5-10.

Conley with 7 points and one (1) rebound. Disappointing.

Down two with a minute to go, Yvon misses two FT's. 9-20.

Conley disappearing for most of the season and MAAC teams (Hounds, undermanned Jaspers) figuring out how to defend Blaise are ominous signs.

Down two with the ball. 20 seconds left. FT shooting has killed SPU. Guards missing badly from the FT line.

Ffrench defended well. SPU out of bounds, 4 seconds left, down 2 points. Washington takes a 30 foot three point shot and misses, SPU loses a brutal game by 2. FT shooting and Conley's disappearing act are the culprits, IMO.

9-20 for a division 1 school doesn't deserve to win.
Very frustrating to watch.

That was one brutal game to watch and a sub par effort by SPU. 9-20 from the line. Conley with one rebound. Desi 5-17 from the floor. SPU shot 42% from the floor, not too bad. Ffrench was defended very well with Jaspers PG out. Jaspers beat SPU with backup PG and missing their number one scorer. Jaspers outrebounded SPU by 3. Win some, lose some, but have to beat an undermanned squad like the one we made tonight.

loyal, you nailed it. For a team that plays so many closes game, we need to find a way to shoot better from the line (how many of the losses have we all said that after?) Conley needs to play more than half the game, but other than being our best option by default, he's been a huge disappointment so far. You and Peacock were spot on with your pregame comments, this was an ugly game but one that we should've won, especially at home with Manhattan being down their two best players. Tough game coming up on Sunday....
