The video feed should be available on the CCSU website tomorrow. NEC has a video feed situation similar to MAAC TV called NEC Front Row.Let's hope we can sweep the Blue Devils for 2012.

Thought CCSU had a pretty good team when we played them, at home. They had lost to Fairfield in overtime, in a game they should have won, just before playing us. Thought that we played a good game against them but were fortunate to win in a back and forth game. Hope the "good" St. Peter's team shows up. We'll need to play our best to beat CCSU on the road.

Down 7 @ the half. Hanging in via second chance points and some threes from Desi, Prescott and Chazz. Just can't shoot worth a lick most days...... Neither team is playing with intensity.....Santa hangover.

CCSU picking up the intensity a bit.....driving to the hole effectively. CCSU by 12 with 12 to go. Second time around CCSU has denied Yvon and Blaise, both, their right hand dribble.....very effectively. Can expect MAAC coaches to follow suit.

Peacocks take their first lead of the game with 7 seconds left, come back from down 14 to win 71-69. Key factor....down 12 with about 8 left, JD subs Jackson for Darius and employs a full court press, which rattled CCSU. Desi with some huge threes. SPU with a 19 rebound edge (!) overcomes shooting 36% and sweeps CCSU this season. I did not see this coming prior to the game or during the first 32 minutes of playing time. Burke played a nice all around game, but missed a bunny and wide open jumper in final 30 seconds...but PATRICK JACKSON got a tough offensive rebound and threw in a jump hook from 5 feet to give SPU the win. This team tries hard almost all the time.............nice road win, coming back from down 14 mid second half.

Great comeback for the win. Very effective press from the 10 minute to the 2 minute mark brought us back to a tie from 12 down.Great effort on the boards today overcame mostly horrible shooting blowing numerous layups shooting under 30 percent most of the way until we brought the percentage up at the end. Jackson played his best game as a Peacock. Very strong on the board.Burke can't hit the side of a barn but did a great job on the press and on the boards. He contributes in so many ways if he could at least make a layup it would be a huge difference for us offensively. Thought Ffrench had a tough game and Raynond played well but missed a ton of shots inside.
Chas Patterson also with his best effort of the year getting more confidence in his shot.Nice to go into conference play at .500.

As we all know, we were fortunate to win. Posted several games ago that we need to press more. Said that we were probably the most athletic team in the league but, with the exception of Desi, perhaps the poorest shooting team in the league. Our half court offense, like most teams in the league is poor and especially so now that teams are watching film and clogging up the middle on Blaise.
While our practices emphasize tough defense, think we should, and probably will, work on our 1/2 to 3/4 court pressure defensive pressure. It's several games now that it's paid great dividends in terms of turnovers.
Re: Chris Burke, he was not our main hero but we don't win the game without him on the floor. Got another key offensive rebound and fed Desi for the three pointer to tie the game and then proceeded to strip the CCSU player of the ball seconds later. Glad that Bruce Hamberger spent some time in his post game interview complimenting Chris on his recent play.
Regarding Chris', shooting so he missed a "bunny". A ton of other guys missed a lot of shots also. Check Blaise's and others shooting percentage today! Spoke with Chris ( really like the kid) after the last game when he was 3/3 from the field with a few key steals.. Glad he took a key shot today, even though a miss. To me, he is becoming less hesitant. I know he can shoot and score (check out some of last years games ) but just needs to pull the trigger and gain confidence. All that said I think those of us who watch Chris in person know that if he can gain confidence and develop his offensive game that he is ALL MAAC material. Don't know if that will happen but I'm rooting for him.

You and i discussed our lack of any pressing previously at the last game old-timer.I couln't agree more. Very effective use of the press today got us back in this game and our regular defense in the last 2 minutes was enough to pull this one out.
After the losses to Loyola Chicago and FDU where we got caught and beaten at the end this one helps even the score a bit.
Don't mean to be negative on Chris Burke, you know i like his overall game but that open missed layup today was almost a killer down the stretch.I think it's lack of confidence more than anything else. If he can work at the shot like Raymond has he could have a big senior year next season.

Let's agree on two things: Burke certainly helped today, defensively and off the boards...... and CB would be even more valuable if he could find a consistent shot. Save for "no D" LIU, our last few opponents have begun to effectively deny Ffrench his right hand.....ditto (though less significant) for Yvon. For the first time this season, I sensed Ffrench was bothered by it today and it caused him to turn it over (7) and throw up some bad shots. Will be interesting to see how Blaise can counter. Great hustle on the glass ultimately won it for us today. Ffrench did have a slew of rebounds, as did Jackson, Conley, Burke and Raymond. Still think Darius has the potential to give the club more. Let's hope it happens.

spcfan...yes, we have discussed and agreed on how much better we play when we trap half or three quarter court. Gives us an athletic advantage. Not sure how much we practice that given our teams of the past few years but it's paying dividends. Can't do it all game but it's a nice weapon to have.
Regarding Yvon. Cindy was the first to point out that Yuvon only really scores going right. Going left, he usually kicks it out. Indeed, the one set play we have for him is off a pick going right. That said, Yvon, as we all know, is amazing in traffic.
Regarding Blaise, he can score to his right or left, although being right handed he does favor that way. Think the problem is that teams, watching film, now know to clog up the middle trying to stop his penetration. Teams are beginning to try to take some of that away. Agree with loyal that Blaise needs to adjust. Might lower his scoring but it's amazing how many assists Blaise averages per game given our low shooting/scoring percentages.
The Manhattan game should be interesting. Even minus their best player the Jaspers have underperformed. Let's hope that they don't have their first breakout game against us. A victory at home would be a great start to avoid the PIG and make us a team to be concerned about.

Nice to see us shoot 80% from the foul line. If we pulled a FDU performance we never would have won this game. Hopefully, the good foul shooting continues through out the season.
