Energy, white hot shooting and the ability to rebound against a small BU squad has SPU down only 4!

Tucker only real inside player, but inspired defensive effort and above average FT shooting have SPU back in the game. Down 6 with about three and a half to go.
I am happy the club did not roll over and die.

Terriers in control, up 10 with 2 minutes to go.
Nice comeback attempt.
Too many offensive weapons for BU. 11-21 from three. Quick guards, good shooters were tough to defend.
BU is us, but guards quicker and forwards who can shoot from outside.
As color announcer says, SPU has one guy who can shoot (Desi), but BU has 3 or 4 players who can shoot.

Desi with 32 of SPU's 61.
I think we scored 61 points in both of the last two games.

I give our guys a lot of credit for the fight they showed in the 2nd half. That being said gotta play two halves.
BTW I think Coach must of got his point across in practice regarding FT's.

74-66 Final.
22-23 from the FT line for SPU. How abou that?
Takeaway is not rocket science......we scrap, play hard, but are small and it appears we just don't have enough shooters to run a string of "W's" together.
Comeback was with Conley on the bench. Frankly, this season, Tucker has looked better offensively, but he is way too small to play the center position well defensively for any extended period.
Did not notice Jackson playing today. Desport got the strart, but was a non factor. Looking like Conley/Tucker may be our optimal 4/5 combo, so far, by default.
Nice game for Desi with 32! Ffrench and Desi had their hands full with Watson and Irving. If BU had one inside player, they would be quite the handful on the mid major level.....but they are a bit small. We could not take advantage of BU's lack of size, but other clubs will.

Jesus, do we need desperately need a small forward who can shoot......too early to look ahead, but I sure hope we land that Williams kid and/or the kid from FL via the Mid West.
Given Hofstra's "situation", SPU should have a good shot. (no pun intended)
OK, I am done posting for a bit.

Unbelievable foul shooting, too bad we wasted it on a loss. Wish we could have shot foul shots like that against FDU....would of should of won that game. Anyone know what's going on with Jackson? Was he in uniform?

To answer eport. Jackson not in uniform...wrist bandaged, hurt it vs FDU. Bizarre game in many respects. Peacock methodical offense did not work against a smothering defense which clogged the middle not allowing FFrench to drive or dish in the first half. It was only after Desi got white hot late in the first half that the middle opened up for Blaise to do his thing...8 assists. Just as free throws took us out last time they kept us in this one. Second half in which we scored 47 pts was also marked by a 3-2 zone and a number of transition baskets. SPU kept closing after being down by as many as 23 to 2,then 3 then 4. But to BUs credit they executed a perfect insid-outside game sinking at least 4 dagger threes each time we closed. In the end we didn't lose it ,they won it. That is if you can forget the putrid first half, and I certainly want to. Other random thoughts...nice game on the boards from Yvon---8. Tucker again solid. I've said it before ,clearly our best inside finisher when not over matched. Prescott again lost...much too slow to match up against BU. Desport showed two nice moves to to the hoop but could not finish. He appeared anything but slow.I still hold to the fact that it is more that he lacks confidence and experience than that he is slow. Desi was great in the last 25 minutes of the game, but I fear he is a streak shooter whose games will go from OK to great. Maybe later on he'll recognize his role as our only true shooter and the big games will become more the rule.
