Peaccock is correct and states very clearly. This policy of announcing after all NLI's are in is followed by most schools. Most information that comes out on recruits (commits or signings) is from blogs and is generally generated from the signees or their spokesperson. Bigger schools undoubtedly receive more attention and thus, more is known. Be patient, the identity of the second JC will be out shortly. What I am interested in learning is whether or not we have a third ship to offer. For reasons that one can infer, not sure that the staff is even certain on this.

a large part of the problem is the administration unless I'm missing something. Not the administration at this point. Look to the athletic department. Fulton was announced everywhere, no need to announce it. Same goes for Ferguson. The real issue is not an official announcement but acknowledgment. Thus the Galt allusion to something coming out shortly. Bigger issue is the Galt worry about academics, which I assume is the meaning. SPCFAN mentioned some thin ice. Not sure the Parks comments have anything to do with this as the NYPOST blogger pretty much knows what Parks is doing.

Rumor is that 6'10" Center, Chris Pelcher is leaving Iona. He was the 8th man in their rotation and was expected to have increased playing time next season.

By the way, that new Towson coach has landed some EXCELLENT recruits late in the signing period. Picked up an absolute stud today....6'8" highly recruited player. I know Towson has made a strong investment in their facilties, but this guy is setting the world on fire!

Just goes to show you what can be done late in the recruiting game. For the record, today is the last day of the Spring recruiting period. Talking about improved facilities, it would be nice if we could play more or all our games at the armory like the old days.

Update on Tucker is that he's made it through the Spring Term. He will be taking Summer courses, and is still on track. If he does qualify, nobody knows for sure how much he will contribute, but I do know he was offered buy several D1 schools, Iona being one of them. I don't think we will experience the same thing we did with Jamie Sowers under Dunne's watch.

I'm not at all surprised he made it. As i posted earlier, have been tiold he's a good kid and tries hard. Sowers was a Leckie transfer and was a totally different situation. He was a transfer from Wichita State not a recruited frosh who sat out for academics. His last year Bob essentially threw him off when he could have been eligible and tried to make amends with Bob, but Leckie had enough of his antics and went without him.

The real question you should have asked your contacts is what is the status of the rest of the team academically. In other words who could we lose for next year.

Exams are just ending as we speak and grades will not be posted until next week. So one can only guess as to any ones status. Tucker was marginal after the first semester in term of GPA but as posted above has been working very hard. Coach Delip is quite an asset and keeps a close eye on all players regarding assignments, papers due, study hall etc. There is so much more to a Program than just recruiting, practice, scouting and games. This is where this Staff excels and Delip is just one example.
Bottom line is that I understand that all players are OK at this point but no one will have certainty until grades are posted.

I know Sowers was a problem child, but I was told his ultimate demise was academics. Anyway, that's history......let's root for Tucker to qualify.

Karee Ferguson, per Recruit Recon, had one other offer.....Division II Virginia State. Did indicate Indiana State and Murray State had "interest" in Karee. No posting yet about Teal.

Well, we usually catch the guys that are flying under the wire and let's hope that's the case with Ferguson. No one heard of Thompson and he turned out to be a nice player. The guy could jump out of the gym and should have been red shirted for another season, but he was a great raw talent.

I think we'll be hearing something soon, although not an official word.

There is a good and bad here. Basically the Ferguson list is most likely old and doesn't include any he might have had recently. The bad news is that he had no real interest from D1 coming out of HS and best award was a 3rd team Burlington County, In all honesty, not an impact kid, but if he has aggressive behavior in the paint and uses his body and of course plays defense, he will satisfy. If we get the same in the 2nd JUCO, going to be hard to rave about the class and will need to put on the HOPE mantra. It also would make the next recruiting class of 3 a major need.

Lack of any word filtering out from any of the blogs/recruits leads me to believe that something fell through on our presumed second JC, be it academics or last minute change of heart. Maybe we can treat this as a positive in that it leaves us open to a recruit that might still be in holding for a better offer, or maybe one that is still awaiting academic blessing. By no past examination would Ferguson meet the impact recruit standard. He may provide some contribution defensively but has very limited offensive capabilities.
Still uncertain as to whether more than one is still available. Still puzzling that Fall remains open. Don't wish to disparage Wing's but just might be another case of academic shortfall.
