Game opened SPU -1.
So, Rider is indeed thought to be 2/3 points better on a neutral court.
A wild guess is the Broncs will be our Quarterfinal opponent, assuming we finish 7th and they finish 2nd.
Long way to go, though.

Long way to go, though. Vegas insider says that it opened at three and is still there.they handled us easily down in Lawrenceville. Their seven footer Lopez was a monster. He ran the floor well posted up and passed.Q and E will have to put out tonight for us to win.Hope to see you there,Loyal

Watching on ESPN 3.
Intense D, back and forth game.
SPU with one assist in the first half, shooting under 30%. Lopez a man inside for Rider. Can't handle him one on one; have to double down and take our chances.
SPU up one with 16 minutes left.

Desport's fouls per minute have to lead the NCAA. :-)

Rider misses 4 FT's in a row; SPU up 3.

Abysmal offense by both clubs. 33-31 with 12 minutes left

Rider is big and strong. Guards cold, even getting good shots this half.

Kennedy says this club not "as tough" as other recent SPU clubs.
Says its the deepest roster Dunne has had at SPU.
Interesting.

Another Kennedy observation: SPU offense grinds to a halt when Wyche goes to the bench...

Rider's offense getting much better shots this half. Rider up 2 with 9 to go.

backup Fortunat toasting Welton, on easy entry passes into the post

key to me is Rider's offense is operating much more smoothly this half, getting very good shots and easy entry passes. Guards are now penetrating effectively.
SPU played excellent D for about 25 minutes. For SPU to win (down 6 with 7 left) our non-existent halfcourt offense is going to have to get going, as Rider has started to solve our D.
We have 39 points in 33 minutes, which, boys and girls, just will not get it done.

Welton getting back at the Broncs with two strong buckets off post moves....SPU down 4.

Welton with a career offensive explosion....7 points in a row. Careless turnover by Gaskins with SPU down 2 and the ball. Rider now shooting 2, up 2, with three minutes left.
Simply put, Marvin and Desi are not getting ANY good looks. Rider D focused that way.
