Could be the adjustment to shooting in a large arena or could just be an off night.

Or could just be average or below average shooters who sometimes get hot,.,Hope I never hear again that comment about lack of plays and/or poor offensive flow. Wide, wide open shots. If this was Princeton or even Iona we'd be atleast 5/11 and in the lead. Has been our problem for years,
No knock on our players, they play hard but we are what we are. Hope our transfer from GW can live up to his reputation as a 3 pt. shooter. . Baker is pretty good shooter also.. Still love our players and root for them.
PS Don't think Siena is that good but they are still up by double digits.Still enough time to right the ship.
Loyal, I love Boone as you know both as a person and player. Only a Soph but I think you and I agree that he is basically a 6th man energy player...But he has improved tremendously and his confidence is growing.

Siena has stepped in to the lead for "best of the rest" in the MAAC that we held a few weeks back. Agree not much better than us but if Wright can come back near somewhat full strength they will not be a team anyone wants to play on their home court next month.

Boone making some mistakes, but he's a sophomore and once he gets a better feel of a half court game, he'll help us.
Lord knows we need to find offense. Our need to improve our front line is becoming increasingly obvious as the season wears on.
Siena pretty much in control all half after a mini SPU run cut it to three. Saints now up 12 with about six minutes to go.

Summary of our team this year. Competitive but no where near dominant. Hope we can re-adjust for the final games of the season. As I posted the other day, the boys are tired. Hope JD uses what ever he has on the bench. Hate to concede but getting freah legs for our next game is important,
Another wide open miss by Elias , followed by Chazz. and then Jones.

Announcers saying Trevi looks compromised by the injury.
At least he was deemed capable of returning to the game, so my hope is the injury will not linger too long.
Beat down tonight. Not unexpected. 6-6.

We now, on paper, move back down in class, so still can finish over .500 and avoid the PIG via protecting home court.
Can still be a useful year if, as OT mentions above, some of our underclassmen get some valuable experience (while keeping starters fresher).
Great effort by Q tonight. All alone underneath tonight.

I don't really see Boone ever getting a feel for the half court game. Kinda of a square peg and on a team that is a round hole. Still can play some minutes and be a decent role player but 6'2" players who can't shoot don't make it too far on the d1 level regardless of how athletic they are.
This year is not a failure as we've maintained last year's standing as a mid-tier team but in order to move up a level next year we'll need at least one and possibly two of the transfers to be top level MAAC players.

4 games in 9 days is a lot of basketball, but we lost by 31pts to a Rider on over a week's rest so the issues are far deeper than the team being tired.

Agree, Pride, am hopeful Boone can become a more useful rotation player.
Our guards coming in next year will definitely help, based on their CV, especially the player from Houston. Guards will not be our challenge. Stating the painfully obvious, the forward position is the spot JD has to upgrade, one way or the other.
For stamina (as OT mentioned) and development reasons, I do hope Sam, Du (if my medical redshirt doesn't happen) Boone and Jones all get more minutes over the remaining 40% of the MAAC schedule. If it costs us a game, so be it.....next year is our "up cycle" year and we need to find out who, if anyone, is capable of contributing.

We do need more out of the forward position but that is magnified in games like tonight when our guards can't hit shots. The MAAC has always been a guard oriented league and with Wyche and Patterson not really being outside threats, we've once again somehow reverted to only having one serious outside threat on the court for a lot of the game. I liked the addition of Jones because I felt we never really recruited a player under Dunne who's main purpose was to just go out and shoot and has confidence in doing it. Cam fits that role, he just has to knock down the shots! Portley will be a good player but it's tough to ask any freshmen to be the top offensive option. He's done better than most with the that task but the league has adjusted and is ready for him. If he can get his 3pt % above 40% and put on some muscle, he'll be an All-MAAC player.
We have Welton, who has emerged as one of the best forwards in the league and with some combination of Hawkins, Idowu, Du, and the transfer from Samford I think we'll have at least an average frontline for the MAAC.
