I don't post much regarding the x and o's of the games (I defer and enjoy reading the analysis of the many knowledgable posters on this board). However, I wanted to recognize the play of senior Yvon Raymond. I was watching the Loyola Il game online and said to myself I am going to miss watching him next year, it's hard to believe he is already a senior! What I appreciate the most is the passion and emotion Yvon plays with. He lays it on the line every game and that's all you can really ask of any player. Early on in his career he could be frustrating to watch as sometimes he let his emotions get the best of him, but he has learned and matured over his years on the blvd. His hard work has showed in his much improved shot that forces defenses to guard him on the perimeter. He has an ability to take over a game with a different dimension, with his defense and driving ability when the team can't seem to get shots to fall. He will leave SPU with a lot of memorable moments (always remember the big dunk in the NCAA's) and a MAAC title. He seems to be an emotional leader and I'm sure he will have some big moments for us down the stretch. Keep it up Yvon. Happy New Year everyone!!

Yvon is the one guy i don't think we can replace next season. He does everything for this team. Contributes in every aspect of the game. He will be sorely missed.

....and to a New Year filled with BIG surprises.
....and a special nod to Peacock for managing a forum that allows the passionate among us to debate the issues of SPU basketball.

.....not to mention his game winner from the corner to put the dagger in Rutgers this year.

Thanks for starting the thread . Yvon deserves it . He has always been a fun player to watch with his passion for the game . And it has been even better to watch him steadily improve his skill set and play the game under more control without losing any of that passion . And we get to watch him for the rest of this season .

Yvon always gives 100% and has obviously worked very hard to improve. NCAA dunk was highlighted throughout the 2011 Tourney; he helped Samuels lock down NBA-bound Machado in the MAAC Final. Good for him.
Happy New Year!

Yvon is what SPU must rely on ofr many of its players. Undervalued in HS but athletic and dedicated to getting better. Now is a joy to watch each night, win or lose. One of my favorite Peacocks because of what he's done for himself and the team in his 4 years. My nominee for next Yvon----Chazz

Would offer Chazz may be the next Steve Samuels, who would have helped this club immeasurably as a senior this season. Huge upside for Patterson. A "stop and pop", on display (albeit briefly) at CCSU, would make Chazz quite effective offensively, as he is a very good passer and has the height to pass and shoot over smaller MAAC guards.

Steve's current 17 for 33 from the line would sure fit in at SPU this year.
