Nice article on MSG site about Trevis following Monteverde game . Quote from Kevin Boyle , his former coach at St. Pat's " I always liked Trevis . First I liked him as a person . He has such a great family and is such a great kid . ...... He did real well against us . He had a great game and he's developed into one of the better guards in the state . "
Another quote from Monteverde's premier player and also former teammate at St Pat's , Dakiri Johnson , " He's ( Trevis ) really good . He's really developed . He's bigger and stronger than most guards . "

MC&S with a big win last night . Beat Paul VI of Fairfax , Va 65-53 . Paul VI had beaten Monteverde a few days before . Monteverde was the #1 team in the country at that time . Quadir had 2 points , led the team in rebounds and blocks with 8 and 3 , respectively .

Welton is playing at the highest level of HS hoops. Probably a long way from being a D 1 scorer, but given small MAAC front lines, QW should help SPU rebound and defend even as a frosh. Disappointing to see our JC recruit, who is labeled as only a shooter, is shooting so poorly this season. Desperately need another scorer, preferably one who is a shooter. Dominique and Welton should be able to rebound/defend pretty well.......but can't start the season with Burke as the small forward, have only Desi and maybe Wyche as shooters and go forward very far next season.

MC&S now ranked 64 in country based on Maxpreps stat and computer methodology . Based on their Xcellent system which takes human judgment ( hoops writers) into account , MC&S is now up to 15 nationally . I know these rankings are big approximations when looking at every high school in the country but still quite impressive performance for Mighty Elephants . Congrats to Quadir and the entire team .

According to the Jersey Journal, Wyche took over that game against North Bergen last night in the fourth quarter, hitting two FT's, then dishing out four straight assists with "pinpoint passing", the last of which was a no-look, behind the back pass for a layup. Wyche outplayed Kavon Stewart of Hudson Catholic (Robert Morris signee) in a December game. Wyche has really stepped it up this season. He also had a very nice game against Boyle's top team in the country in a tournament held @ Roselle Catholic a few weeks ago. My buddy describes him as "Jasper Walker with a three point shot".

Had a chance to to watch Hudson Catholic's Kavon Stewart in HC's win over DeMatha . He is a really nice pg and good get for RMU . From that game , he is a quality guy to measure Trevis against . HCs Cameron is a very good player but may be aiming a bit high with Georgetown but nothing wrong with that . Hoops isn't the only reason to pick a school , and you don't get much better education , degree and networking than Georgetown .

I agree about Cameron. Was shocked at the level of interest he has attracted, that lack of handle at that height may limit his upside. He has bulked up significantly. Anyway, I am no expert. Stewart should be good for RMU. Marinello is doing a great job at Hudson. If St. Anthony's is ever going to be beaten in their Group, the Hawks in 2013 are a team with at least a punchers chance.

Nice night for Welton as MC &S goes 18-0 with 74-70 OT win over Vaux.
"For MC&S, with a considerably bigger front line, Quadir Welton, a 6-8 forward, produced 14 points and 18 boards (six on offense), and the 6-7 Worthem posted 11 points and 11 rebounds.
He was big, especially early on," Jackson said of Welton. "We knew he would be able to finish around the rim against them."
