Score Coach Dunne 1- Coach Clueless 0 Iona's guards especially Sledge went by SPU guards at will in a spread. Also Iona press hurt SPU causing us to speed up. So coach clueless abandons both. Meanwhile Dunne sees that SPU hs nothing to fear from inner Gael defense. He sends Ffrench, Burke, Washington, Raymond and Paterson right at them and gets isos for Conley turning 10 pt deficit into a win. SPU needs max effort every night and all the time. A lot to ask, but to the extent that JD gets that and players are willing to make the effort Peacocks can make trouble for evryone in the league. But a little less than all out gets FDU, BU and first half vs BU as results.

As i commented to Cindy last night. I think an alien has taken over Blaise Ffrench's body. He has been our leader and best all around player so far this year. Kudos to OT on this one. Don't know where this player has been the last two years but now that the team is his at the point he has responded. Now i can see why he was so highly regarded out of high school. We must give maimum effort every night to win as the last 4 losses have shown but to quote our coach I like this team. On to Loyola Saturday.

SPU had a second half lead for a total of 20 seconds, prior to the BF winning jumper.
Long, gritty, uphill climb for the Peacocks. Watching the game, it never felt like SPU would ultimately prevail.
Nightmare early season loss for Iona.

Iona's message board was lit up with posts of deep dismay and depression. Most MAAC posters still believe our Rutgers win was an aberration. One poster stated that even though we "Some How" beat Rutgers, we didn't stand a chance of winning against Iona. He who laughs last laughs best. If we can put two good halfs together we can compete with anyone in the MAAC.

Did you notice that in the last two games SPU has scored 40 first half points and 90 second half points ?I trust John is pushing some buttons.
