At the moment, there's nothing new for publication, but August will be a busy month for late and early recruiting. Dunne and Staff are leveraging our MAAC Championship to the utmost. Dunne's new contract has taken him out of the survival mode, allowing him time to focus on building a program. Iona and Fairfield will be tough next year, but don't count us out.....we may surprise. The stars are being alligned for us in 2012-2013 and beyond. Note.....Desi Washington has game and is already a proven at Division I, putting up impressive numbers against ACC competition as a Freshman. Look for him to play a major role in our quest for a MAAC Championship in 2012-2013.

eport and jajk right on guys. Consider that right now the players that most have least confidence in on the roster are Hill and Ffrench and both have shown that they have the ability to contribute at D1 level. There is not a useless player on the roster. I won't name names but we can all think of guys who populated the roster in years not too far past who were really just not capable of playing in D1. I hate to sound like Dickie V here but I really don't think you can say that anymore.

Obviously, some players are better than others, but there certainly isn't any dead wood on our team. Sad news regarding Costner. I heard nothing but nice things about him and if healthy he would have been a contributor. I wish him the best.

Add me to the above list. Won't make any predictions, at this point, except that we will be very, very competitive. While many are looking to Ferguson and Spera, I'll just reiterate what I've said about Jack Hill. While he certainly could have used that one redshirt year (injury to Costner negated that), Jack has a ton of tools to contribute.
A legit 6'8", strong body, perhaps the best "ups" on the team, and can play defense. There isn't one player on the team that doesn't know how good Jack "could be". Just a matter of confidence IMO.
Given Jack's failure to contribute in the past, one cannot count on his emergence this year but one can hope. At the very worst Jack will see court time as a sub for Darius. Finally, I posted a while ago how hard Jack was working on his game post season. He seems very determined given that this is his final year. Hard work with no talent rarely works but Jack does have the talent to be more than just a role player...we'll see

Hope you are right..........we can use a strong defensive force in the middle when Connelly need a break. Spera is taller, but will have to add some muscle to help with interior D

Agree that Hill has the potential to earn some decent minutes. Also, we've had some more campus visits, so don't be surprised if we snag another big before the school bell rings.

Of the options above if he's eligible to sign this year the guy we should want is Jordan Parks. There have been varying reports on whether he is eligible to play immediately or must take a year of prep.

I concur.....he's the last piece of the puzzle. Park is on the radar, but as you alluded, his eligibility is still in question.

Jordan Parks indeed would be great; however, how do we have another "ship" to give for this year? Am I missing something? I thought we have 13 now, as follows: Spera Hill Conley Furguson Tucker Burke Samuels Raymond Prescott Ffrench Washington Hall Fulton ?

If, that is the case and Parks is available, that would indeed put the icing on the cake! Go for it!

It has been said here before, but it bears repeating. There is absolutely no dead wood on that roster. They are as deep and as talented as any Peacock team I can remember. There is probably not a POY candidate, but Donne can go 10 or even 12 deep which allows him to press all game if he wants to and, with the notable exception of Conley, to be free of injury or foul worries.

Parks would be nice, but my personal opinion is that it won't happen. Dunne runs a clean program and remember the ramifications if a player doesn't graduate. Contrary to what most believe, there are many viable candidates in the marketplace. No guarantees , but we may stll land another big.
