Went down to St. Rose in Belmar last night to watch summer league games . Ryan Bacon's team was scheduled to play team composed primarily of RU players but Ryan was a no show . For those who also root for RU , Myles Mack looked good ; very quick , good court instincts and long-range J shooter but at his size might struggle a bit at first on D end in Big East . Elijah Carter , another former St, Ant's guy from prior year , had very impressive second half ; very strong 6'2 guard . Seagers did not impress but only one game and summer league kind of play . Judge , the transfer who I don't think will be eligble this season , is very imposing looking big physically and athletic , but had case of iron hands last eve . Alexis of Marist played on other team and wasn't impressive at all .
Brandon played in second game for team that had few SHU guys including Fuquan Edwin and also McAlarney from Notre Dame . Brandon started and then played second extended stint in first half . ( Getting up at five for golf this morn , we did not stay for second half ) . But Brandon was Brandon which is fine with me . A couple of nice passes for assists in half court sets , aggressive pushing the ball upcourt and good D but don't remember him taking a shot in half we saw . This kind of summer play is much more suited to a player like Fuquan who is not shy about throwing it up from anywhere on the court . Ryan Rossiter from Siena played for other team and seemed to have green light to do anything he wanted including bringing ball upcourt and throwing up threes from various spots : really looks like he wants to play away from the bucket wherever his pro career takes him : loved his play as hustling MAAC big but not much of what I saw last night . That team also had Jeff Jones , the transfer who some Rider fans are raving about ; not much to rave about from his play last night but again only one summer league effort .
