Check out the school website. Asst coach Marlon Guild will be blogging his recruiting trips in the post. Seems like good exposure for out school and maybe we will be more abreast of our recruiting targets.

Superb idea. Only upside associated with this gig.....free pub for the Peacocks.
First blog reads like a promo piece for SPC. Kudos to whoever networked MG into this opportunity.

Guild is on the ball. We are starting to do the little things right. Too bad about Fall. I have no idea what happened.

Read the Post article. While these are not always accurate, he feels the Radford coach was with him full force. Big question raised by spcfan was the level of our attention. Must remember there is the Washington issue and we might have wanted Fall to redshirt for a year on aid. Big question is how they are going to handle Washington. He is not small potatoes and has more skills than Fall. Until we see what happens with Washington, we will have no idea on Fall. In addition the other big guy is still a possibility, that is if he gets the grades in summer school. Same issue for him versus Washington exists. If we get him and Washington attends, then we can assume Fall turned us down. If nothing occurs with the other stud, we can partially assume Washington was given the last available.
Surprised to find out that in a March 30 transfer list, Washington was listed as going to SPC. That is not the case on the Goodman transfer list.

Should we conclude our front line options are limited to the "Big Conference" transfer with one year eligibility? If we wait and he craps out, we have only Conley, Hill and Ferguson up front this season. Ugh. If he comes and plays for a year, then we'll have a situation when Conley, Raymond, Prescott and Samuels are seniors in '12-'13......a legitimate "target" year for MAAC contention, IMO......but those seniors will have to blend with at least two new front line players. Neither option is very appealing, unless the front line player comes in August and vaults SPC into serious contention status this coming year. That is hard to envision, given how formidable Iona and Fairfield appear to be. Or, am I missing something?

You can't even conclude that until you know how and if they are dealing with Washington.
Also I doubt if many know if there are other options and most here are only dealing with what we are presented with.
Just for kicks, the Big Conference boy must graduate to be available for us. If he does and comes, an interesting angle could appear. He only has played two years of varsity ball with one year a transfer hold and the other a full season injury. While he would have his 5th year with us, there is precedent for petitioning a waive for a sixth year for a documentable injury. Cart here well before the horse, but speculation is a;ll that we got right now.

Loyal, you aren't missing anything and you are right on target. We don't exactly have our backs to the wall, but there's no doubt the clock is ticking and we are getting down to sh.t or get off the pot. I do know another candidate is coming in next week and Dunne is putting a full court press on getting that ellusive big that will put us over the top. I know it's frustrating, but Dunne has thrown a lot of sh.t up on the wall and something is bound to stick. We are due for some good luck.

Marlon's second blog is in the Post today. Just talks about his travels, I didn't expect to learn much about recruiting targets. He is probably not authorized to speak about recruits anyway.
