From the Tony Graham blog for Monmouth today.
From the the hinterlands - Kevin Boyle is now convinced John Dunne is getting a job and Boyle is trying to get St. Peter’s where he is a recent Hall of Fame inductee .
Seems to me Boyle would be more of a natural fit for SPC than MU…

Peacock...thank you for calling me a clown. Coming from you I'll wear it with a badge of honor. The point of my post is that you post things which are not true as if they were fact. You know nothing of the circumstances under which JD was originally hired yet you talk as if you were in the room and worse yet what was in Bill Stein's mind. Yet you have no problem telling us . The only information you have about SPC is what you read in blogs or what you make up.
Yes, I will tell you my opinion on JD and PE because I know them. Unlike you, however, I cannot read their minds and do not presume to tell them what they should do ("measure them" in your words)
I take everything you post with a grain of salt knowing that you have little information which is worthwhile . If others enjoy reading you drival...that's fine with me but I will correct you when you post something which has no basis in fact.
PS Still waiting for you to congratulate our team and coach on their past Season

Peacock...again you are trying to put words in other people's mouths. How many countless times in the past have you been accused of that? Never gave my opinion on JD taking the Manhattan or Fairfield job, if offered. What I did object to is your hubris in telling everyone how you would measure Pat Elliott. and what he should do...typical Peacock! I'll give you the same advice you gave me. Call him, he's around, and tell him how he should do his job. I'm sure that he will appreciate your advice.
PS Thank you for telling me Bill Stein is around. Didn't need you to tell me that. I've seen and spoken with Bill several times this year.

Give it up. You have lied in the past, fed revisionist information and been all around apologist for anything that was not right. You hardly remember your Leckie defenses. And get it right, I called you King of Clowns.

from Tony Graham blog, "According to a few sources now, King Rice was on campus today and could be your next MU men’s hoops coach."

Per Zagsblog,Vandy assistant King Rice is in town and could be named Monmouth coach by Wednesday. He was a finalist for the Wagner job last year. If he gets the MU job we may have dodged a bullet here.

spcfan...you might have said it exactly right. With all the high profile candidates interviewing at Monmouth, we might very well have dodged a bullet...well put.
Will be speaking to someone who is an insider in the Manhattan Athletic Dept. tomorrow. At the very least I'll get an idea of their thinking. As far as Fairfield is concerned, Simon seems to be the frontrunner but several names are being tossed around. Anyone interested should read the Fairfield board. JD is not prominately mentioned, if at all.
Never say never but doubt if JD, even if he were interested, is a realistic possibility for either Manhattan or Fairfield.
Let's get that "big guy" who can contribute something right away. Easier said than done (or is it Dunne ?)

SPC may have dodged a bullet, but JD has to be personally disappointed if Monmouth looks elsewhere. Given the likelihood of the Stags and Gaels dominating the MAAC next season, it seems to me JD's marketability is at its apex, for the forseeable future. If JD gets the Monmouth job, PE has time to react. If JD keeps looking (and why wouldn't he?), and lands a gig later in the game, SPC is in a very tight spot. If Monmouth selects the Vandy guy, the "JD looking elsewhere" drama will continue to play out. In a perverse way, SPC may be better off with a finite early decision, even if it results in JD leaving. Just an opinion.

Not sure I agree loyal. Manhattan appears to be sewn up and that leaves Fairfield which as I stated would be slap in SPC face if he went for the job. Only two other jobs meeting his needs are Towson and Colgate. Colgate would require relocation while Towson could be handled by car but a pretty healthy commute.
Now as I stated before I just don't think he has the resume and most support comes because of the perceived resurrection of the SPC program. In fact it is mostly a negative perception of SPC that fosters this. His overall record is not his strong point. Ask yourself, had we not won the MAAC how would this season been weighed. Not well and nothing would have been there for him. What was the opinion of most for the season prior to tournament. Honest fans were not exactly happy. What he needs is a couple more winning seasons and then his potential would be much greater. Your comment assumes he will not do well at SPC as time goes on otherwise you would not have assumed he was at his apex. I think he has the potential to get better teams. Unlike the everything is great people, I see the growth in him. He didn't possess it at the start although the apologists alibi the reason. It took 2 and half seasons before anything resembled a team. Just the fact that he teaches great defense will carry him far at SPC. He does need to improve his recruiting particularly in finishing on targets. Guard play was not our strong point and we do have the potential to have an upgrade there. No one knows what SPC is doing to retain Dunne. No one knows that Dunne may have actually turned down the Monmouth job. Nothing wrong with interviewing with the exception of looking for a job in your present conference. So I am not sure your perception is right, but I do agree closure one way or another should be quick.

Another idiot post
1) "perceived resurection of the SPC program" No,not "percesived" but real. Who beside Peacock would disagree that JD and PE have turned our basketball Program around. Will it continue is another question but only a blind man (or one with his own agenda) can't see what JD and staff has accomplished.
2) "Towson could be handled by car but a pretty healthy commute". No one would commute from NJ to Towson on a daily basis!!! Shows absolutely no understanding of what a college basketball coach does. Except for traveling a coach is in his office or holding practice every single day. Commute to Towson???
3) "What was the opinion of most for the season prior to the tournament. Honest fans were not exactly happy" Fans have expectations. However, the truth is, contrary to what Peacock implies that "honest" fans were quite happy to have JD as our Coach. That is why everyone wants him to stay.
4) "I see growth in him" Good for you, it's about time you saw something.
5) "apologists alibi the reason" Another code word by Peacock...an 'apologist" is one that doesn't agree with this idiot
6)"Manhattan job appears to be sewn up" Meaningless self-serving statement. EVERY job will be "sewn up" within the next several weeks. Guarantee that Peacock knows nothing about the Manhattan situation, including the buyout of BR.
7)" He (Dunne) does need to improve his recruiting particularly in finishing on targets". Please call JD and offer your advice on how to close....pompous ass.
8) Still waiting to hear..."nice job players and coaching staff this year". After all your nay saying BS, guess your ego won't permit it.
PS If you are tempted to ban me, remember it was you who got personal first and before that with your personal attacks on jajk and sludge....but do as you will. You remain a pompous fool.
