Effort was certainly there; execution......not so much. Team was tight as a drum in the eight minutes; Purdue left the door open early, but when that opportunity slipped away, the game was history. Johnson of Purdue is quite a player. However, what a great 10 days for Peacock fans. Great effort in B'port by our four seniors; cupboard not totally bare; let's see how our coaching position shakes out and how it impacts recruiting. Busy month ahead listening to rumors and innuendos! Great job by Jenny, Frances and Alumni Staff helping with tickets, hosting great pre game receptions.....first class operation.

Others have noted this before, but for all the buzzer beaters and monster dunks, the moment of the tournament was Nick and JD embracing when he was taken out. I was an early doubter and critic, but JD has really proven me wrong. Now all the college has to do is to find a way to keep him.

I would hope that we reward JD for a great season and the improvement in the program during his tenure . I had reservations during his first season with some of the things that happened but it is abundantly clear that he was a great choice as a coach and as a rep for the school and the program .
But it is also clear that we cannot reward him anywhere close to the level to prevent him from leaving for a lot more lucrative program in terms of money and resources . If he gets the right offer and accepts , we can only say thanks and great luck . There is only one thing that I would ask of JD if this happens . It is that one of his first phone calls afterward is to Lamin Fulton telling the young man that he has signed on with a great program and should at the least talk with the new coach before making any decision to reopen his LOI .

I know it's been discussed before, but how much money does the Bid get the school... I know there is conference sharing, but does SPC get a bigger share?
Maybe this can open the door for a pay day away game or two.

Purdue looks very slow tonight...........VCU beating them up the floor all day, many 2 on 1's and 3 on 2's. Also, bigger bodies keeping Johnson away from the cylinder. VCU up about 10!!

I hope you are right about generating some away game money, but only if JD can find one or two bigs ( presuming of course that JD is the coach next year)

If I understand correctly, SPC really only gets travel money. The MAAC gets some money which it distributes equally among the schools. The way I always understood it, is that the school gets half and the MAAC gets half which is distributed among the other nine schools. Somewhere in there the MAAC itself takes a little. The only fly in the ointment is that the money is distributed over a five year period. Also I believe travel and expenses is outside the share amount. However, if that has been changed from the past, let someone in admin correct it.
