The Boilermakers were too good for us tonight . Thanks to administration , staff and each and every player for providing us with a helluva lot of fun this season . We will miss Wes and Ryan and Nick and Jeron a lot . They all contributed to a big move ahead for the program .Great success to them in their pursuits after St. Peter's . And the guys returning will do so as the defending MAAC champions . Good news is that the offseason is two weeks shorter this year ; important stuff to an old guy .

Great shot at the end of the game...JD embracing Nick with tears in his eyes.

Purdue was simply the better team tonight- very few easy baskets for us. They made Jeron settle for the three and defended him well when he drove, knowing that he wasn't going right. They also pressured Nick from baseline to baseline. It was great to see these players and coaches represent SPC on the national stage as we have watched them do all season. I only hope it won't be another 16 years before we can see it again.
I was glad that the tournament is being shown on four channels- last year CBS would have switched away to go to coverage of another game and we would have missed seeing he great moment between JD and Nick. The announcers were terrible, constantly refering to Samuels as Jenkins. In the ND-Akron game earlier in the day, they kept saying that Akron beat Iona to win the MAC...terrible job of doing their homework.

We came out with such great energy and intensity it actually worked against us on offense. We were so jacked up it caused us to play out of control. Eventually we settled down, but it was too late. As the game progressed, we did manage to get several good looks at the basket, but we just couldn't convert. The better team won tonight, but the score would have been a lot more respectable if we hit some of those open shots. I'll say this......we never stopped hustling, right to the very end. Coach Dunne, his staff and the team represented us with class all the way. I'm proud as a Peacock!

My guess is that he is definitely closer to the 5'9 . I like our chances to contend again next year . How close to the top will depend on how fast Lamin acclimates to Div one , how much scoring Prescott will give us and whether we get a big that at the least can give us rebounding and defensive minutes . But Darius , Steve , Yvon and Brandon are a solid nucleus to assuring that we again have a lot of fans of other MAAC teams whining about the defense the Peacocks play . With all the minutes that we are graduating , these four have a lot of experience under their belts now . What other MAAC can say they have four solid players coming back that were part of a MAAC winning team and have competed in an NCAA game .

Nothing to add to the great comments above except to say that the players and coaching staff did themselves and SPC proud. Nice to hear our posters feel the same. This team was all about effort and not quitting thru all four years. Credit to all involved with the Program.

I am so proud of the entire Saint Peters community and it was great to be part of it all....The next time we make the tourney I really hope it is a location that more of our fans can come out to.... I agree 100 per cent with the above posters with regards to the game...the better team won last night and we just could not hit our shots....We made a good run in the second half....
I loved the end of the game with the seniors coming out and the long embraces really special...
I was extremely calm during the game...but did lose it with a little under 5 left and the fouls were 10 to 2 in favor of Purdue and the Purdue fans were screaming about an obvious offensive foul on them where there guy pushed off on our defender and he went flying 15 feet...It would have been a lot more heated if the game was closer....
I feel good about next season....and the direction of our entire program....

I can't say enough about how great this weekend was. SPC has really gotten their act together .Attention to detail was super. From receptions,to tickets,to rallies,to transportation, everything was first class.Thank you Pat, Bill, Jenny,Maryann, Sara,Anna, and of course JD. A special tip of the hat to Prez C. Together with all my great friends who made the trip,Joe,Bob,the D brothers,Loyal and their families, the players ,their families,it was great to see so many alumni from around the country. What a feeling! my hope is that we can sustain ,and build on this energy in the future. Thanks again to all!

Hopefully this season (and especially these last two weeks) shows the powers that be at SPC the true benefits of having a successful athletic program- not winning at all costs, but allowing quality individuals like these players and coaches to showcase our program and school on a national level. Also, bringing everyone- students, faculty, staff, and alumni- together and having something to be proud of. How many college age kids heard of SPC for the first time in the last week? How many kids that graduated in the last 10 years were saying they were proud to be SPC alumni for the first time? In the last week, people were no longer asking "SPC, never heard of it, is that Division 2 or 3?"

Purdue was just too big and physical for us. SPC with a great effort on defense but Purdue's size and strength just prevented any comfort zone on offense for us. But a wonderful effort by an outmanned squad. Great scene with Nick and coach. Proves that coach is also a really GOOD man too. Not always easy to say about D1 coaches as we around here know. An early thought about next year- Let's try to celebrate the program's 1000 win. I have it at 984-928 right now, but I'll let others check that. If I'm right we need 16 to get there next year. I don't want to sell anyone short, but wouldn't it be great if SPC can come off an NCAA year and "rebuild" with 16+ wins? With some big help there is more than enough at 1-2-3 to get there. No more going back to 6-7 win level. Here's hoping we can keep John though. I'm not so worried about Big 6 jobs and I think Cooley would be first MAAC choice anyway esp at Providence. Monmouth would mean John would have to prove the same ability at basically the same level again-Why do that? The job that worries me though some will think I'm crazy Is Towson St. A multi bid mid major league which can offer more money and better facilities than SPC. Hope we can put up enough to have him keep his roots here a while longer. Echoing another post- looks like Fulton vs Morton could be 4 years of fun in the MAAC. It was still a great time to be a Peacock.

The technology didn't really exist the last two times the Peacocks were in the NCAAs, but I thought it was great the way the school promoted the NCAA appearance through its web site and e-mail blasts.
Also, I still live a few blocks from the school and it's great to see the video board at the corner of Kennedy Blvd and Montgomery with pictures of the MAAC championship win.
As an aside, I think that video board is a tremendous addition. That's an incredibly high traffic area and the fact that the board is always changing makes it a great attention grabber.
Saint Peter's, to me, has always been what college athletics should be about. The athletes are typical of the rest of the student body. They're hard-working kids who go to class and get themselves ready for life after college. And they also work hard in their lives as Division I athletes.
It's great to see this team celebrated. And to see the school celebrate itself and its accomplishments.
