I may be in the minority but I thought had he stayed he could develop into a nice player for us. I think the more continuity the better, but it was not to be. I wish him well.

I agree Youngalum. Especially since Hogue and Washington left. Kinda surprised to see with 6 or 7 days left in the portal. Here's my question, if you are a player, is it better to enter Star Trek earlier or last bus ticket? Personally, I think earlier is better because you would have more offers given the exposure. Which begs the question, who wants to wait to be in the stag line with Mr Schwump?

Shows absurd things are. Very average player who tried higher- Nebraska stepped down to eastern Illinois tried reinvention in juco stepped lateral at Spu and now looks for a 5th school in 5 years. Absurd.

This one should not surprise any poster on this board. While Wood displayed decent talent when he got his minutes, he was virtually behind every returning wing or two guard on the roster. I think it was his lack of intensity on defense that held him back.
Next season’s rotation could be very interesting , especially if Tanksley is as advertised. That could move Reid to off guard when they are on the floor together, with Clarke, Zeigler, Bland, Randolph, Perkins, and at least one new incoming wing fighting for minutes at the two guard and wing. I don’t see Wood moving ahead of any of those players except for maybe Perkins. Since I thought we were overloaded at the wing/two guard, we now have more flexibility to find another point guard or big. A pure shooter off the bench, like what Edert gave us, would also fill a need.

Absurd. I guess obtaining a degree is meaningless to players today? Talk about a system that encourages players to be worse off than the previous system. At least under the old system, they could obtain a general studies or some other nonsense degree. Useless degree, sure...but a degree nonetheless.

His only significant playing time was when Washington was hurt late in the season. Had a decent looking three point shot but lacked defensive intensity Mason requires so that would always limit his playing time. Probably will wind up moving down maybe to D2 for a lot more playing time or closer to home he's from Maryland I believe. Three gone with 5 days to go. Looks like we have anywhere from 2 to 5 spots to fill right now. Two of three in the portal plus the 3 listed seniors one of whom Reid should be able to get another year due to covid as his Juco in 20-21 season,Atlantic Cape didn't play basketball that year. Looks to me like Clark is out of eligibility and Roberts probably is as well though he wasn't honored at senior day so don't know where he stands.

Looks like the portal is slowing down. Just 1 yesterday. I think we are ok.

Looks like the portal is slowing down. Just 1 yesterday. I think we are ok. Randolph has been welcoming our new commits on social media. I feel good about him. Need to keep Zeigler, who I look to make a big jump next year. Also need Reid to get another year then I’d feel pretty good about next year. A couple more difference makers with any open ships would be welcome too.

Youngalum, I agree 100%. I think Reid will return. I realize Washington will be a huge void, however, we still haven't seen Tanksley play. Perhaps, he opens up a different offense. If we can keep the existing players, good vibes.
