Remember Ronnie well. Use to drive him to the PATH station after a SP home game. A big and loyal SP fan after his separation from being a Manhattan College fan. He was also a big SP Golf Team fan given our success at the time. Always asked me to take him to the Masters Golf Tournament to which I obviously had no access. Ronnie was persistent in everything he did ! Extremely friendly to the max and never really thought of himself as challenged. Active in many things in his home community of NYC. A good lesson for all of us. One ride that I remember was taking him to the Staten Island Ferry from a game at Rider ( I lived in Staten Island ) so he could go home to NYC. It happened to be all the way down at Rider. Surprised to see him down there so when I asked Ronnie how he got to Rider he explained about all the subways and buses. that he took to get to the game. He was persistent and smart. So I drove him all the way back. On that long ride he talked constantly about SP basketball and golf in addition to his involvement in Special Olympics. Enjoyed that ride very much.
Everyone at SP was good to him as was Coach John Dunne. Ronnie, as Cindy and Loyal know, always had a seat at Courtside. A great SP fan. An honor to have known him even for a brief period of time. RIP, frIend.
PS Interestingly, Ronnie in his bio is listed as a St. Peter's College Graduate, 1982

RIP Ronnie. I never met you, yet felt like others, that I knew you. Always enjoyed feeling the passion of his words and his want to share the things he learned / heard. You will be missed.

A nice gesture and another positive sign that our new AD gets it and is on the ball.

Good call ya and spc. In a few short months Katie has shown more regard for the spu loyal fans than rp did in her entire tenure
