Marist at RBR Sunday. SP -2 and 120.5. Here's the deal... I think SP offense is clicking better. 2, this game will come down to a game of runs. An 8-0 run may be the difference in winning or losing. Which brings me to, a quicker than normal timeout because of a run, may be the difference in the end of the game. Both JD and Bash are excellent coaches and know their teams well. Time out management could be the factor. Rock fight for sure. Go Peacocks!

Check this out in my research. The last 4 games v Marist, Washington's stat line.
Washington DNP Washington (MAACT) 13 mins 5 fouls 2 points Washington Feb '23 19 mins 3 fouls, 9 rebs, 2 points Washington Jan '23 12 mins 4 fouls, 4 points.
Washington 3-10 FG 2-5 FTs
Those stats tell me 1 thing. Coach Dunne has a game plan to defend Washington. In the February '23 game, SP had 26 fouls. SP MUST not get in foul trouble. This game will come down to discipline, runs and TO management. It's gonna be interesting to watch how Coach Dunne defends Washington. I don't think he is going to let Washington beat them. Hopefully, Randolph et al, steps up. Those stats I realize were with different personal, but it still remains, JD knows how to defend. Having said that, Coach Bash knows too and I'm sure he is going to take something away from them. Needless to say, Washington HAS to stay on the floor. Gonna be a great game to watch. Go Peacocks!

Watching Creighton v SJU. A 70 year old man with a bad rinse in his hair, should never wear a white suit. Bad look. White, after Labor Day? What would Ralph Lauren think?

You called it. Washington picks up two quick fouls and was ineffective for most of the 1st half. Bash had to take a chance in the last few minutes and put him back in once Marist went on their run.

Getting killed on boards. 18-9. Marist seems to be handling press ok with great reversal and kick down to cutter . Have no idea what Clarke's funk the last 4 games. Need Washington all 20 minutes. So far by my count, biggest run by Marist 7-0. I'm guessing SP looks to Washington first few sets to post and score. Look for a 7-0 run by the Peacocks start of half. Go Peacocks!

I'm giving the game ball to Sow for the energy he brought to the comeback.

Key block there towards the end of the game. Refs sucked today. But what else is new.

Four Peacocks in double figures today. When’s the last time we had that happen?

Big comeback win today folks. My two cents. Peacock, You are correct about Sow. Played with intensity that I have not seen this year. Spc91, hang on about the double figures, I'll do research, LOL. But to your point, I'm betting it's been awhile.
I thought in the first half it looked like SP was a step slow on defense especially the press. I think coach Dunne did a really good job on Washington by switching and if you noticed, the Marist guys really are quite good at taking a charge. Cooley, a grad student, did a helluva job. I thought the 1-3-1 zone in the second half with Washington in front did a very good job.
Clarke remains an enigma. 4-11 from the line for an 84% shooter. I'm telling you, it's starts with lack of confidence, then goes to over-thinking. I think his forearm tightens ever so slightly on the release. Guiding it as opposed to releasing it. Best way to cure it, I know it sounds insane, get up at 3 AM and shoot in apartment/dorm or better yet a gym. Nobody over-thinks at 3 AM. He's a natural shooter so it will come back.
Last thing, SP was fortunate not seeing Hobbs and Leffew for MSM and Allen for Marist. Let's take advantage of the situation and win 3 straight. Go Peacocks!

What a bruising, hard fought game. With all that effort, I hate to see us give away opportunity when we miss so many foul shots. Clarke remains in a funk. I am not sure he should have been in the game down the stretch.
Agree with you guys about Sow’s effort. He came up big defensively. He has good shooting form but terrible hands. He can’t catch.
Marist had a total of 4 second half field goals. Our defense really stepped up. I was delighted to see Reid play to his strength, which actually is his strength. Instead of hoisting up long distance jumpers, he is finally learning to back his defenders down in the paint and go over them. He did it today as well as Friday at MSM. Our guys never give up. They are easy to root for, but at times, hard to watch.
Let’s get Houge and Reid healthy. We need them at full strength to have a chance in AC.
