Agree with loyal. But for me the biggest head scratcher is the role Reid played. To his credit he has gone from a horrible shooter to a fair shooter. But he is compromised now by a bad hand- his fingers are taped together. His shots are all short. His ft% tonight was bad even though he is an ok ft shooter. So why is the ball in his hands late in the clock so often? He can still be helpful with ball handling and defense and rebounding. Right now his hand hinders his shot. We should have emphasized getting the ball to Clark or Ziegler. Even Randolph or Perkins would be preferable now. Frankly if I was Niagara and I had to foul late Reid might have been a prime choice bc of the hand. I believe he had 15 shots tonight which given his issues is far too many. So I’d have to say bad job by the staff in not adjusting to our circumstances. But getting outscored 31-12 down the stretch just won’t cut it. But maybe we’re starting to get healthier which is a good thing. Hope we can get righted at Marist Sunday which has been up and down now for a little while To add to Figgy’s expert analysis, I observed a breakdown in interior defense when Niagara’s smaller quicker guards Bayless and Marble drove to the hoop. Perhaps we were occupied by the big slug in the middle but they were 8 for 12 going to the basket. Where was KC when we needed him ? My fear is Dunne will have his guys in bounce back mode after a terrible loss to MSM.

Figgy good point about Reid’s fingers. It does make sense why his shot hasn’t been as good since the injury. I will say I was screaming at the tv at the end of the Siena game. No reason for Clarke not to have the ball in his hands when a team has to foul. I know he missed a big one last night but I’ll take him over anyone else when we are knowingly getting freebies.

It was our best defensive performance of the season. The guys played their hearts out shutting down the Niagara big and point guard, and blocking a ton of shots. I do think Reid is hurting with his finger injury. Coach Bash is squeezing every possible ounce out of this group. No reason to hang our heads. We are just a limited team on the offensive end. Washington and a restored Houge will help enormously.
