SP hosts Niagara Friday night. SP a 6.5 point favorite and 135.5. SP has beaten Niagara 6 of the last 7 games. In the previous game at Niagara, SP shot 56% FGs. Niagara kept it close by hitting 22 of 28 fts. SP with 22 fouls. SP starters were Reid, Bland, Sow, Hogue and Randolph. Washington played 26 minutes with 6 points. I think that's when Washington was coming off his first shoulder injury. Hogue had 19 points and Reid 15. I'm not sure what to make of this game without Hogue and Washington. Obviously, Zeigler and others are going to have to step up. Niagara out rebounded SP 27-19. Obioha is a load underneath. I think, protect the ball, take good shots and play defense. I don't think it's gonna be easy. Go Peacocks!

I watched Niagara’s last game. Obioha had an injury in the OT. He came back but had trouble with one leg. Sometimes that type of injury gets worse. We can hope.

Peacock, to your point, Sow and Roberts in the first game had 7 fouls together guarding him. He also had 9 rebounds. If he sits, a HUGE break for SP.

With 9 guys and missing 2 important pieces including our best player this is a tough weekend. Regardless of what happens we just have to get healthy by March. If we are I still like our chances

Hogue was dressed last game so I am holding out hope that maybe we get him back tomorrow.

Thanks Youngalum. I do appreciate the posts of this guy. I'm not on X or twitter so I can't get this. Again, Thank you. It will probably come down to who shoots and makes more free throws. Hopefully SP can limit fouls to 15. The last 3 minutes could be a free throw contest. Go Peacocks!

I will continue to post his SPU breakdowns as I find them to be pretty fair and I know not everyone is on "X". Funny he was on a podcast yesterday that I listened to breaking down the Maac games. The interviewer asked him his favorite team not necessarily in the Maac, his response....Indiana Hoosiers.

Tough loss. Guys played their asses off and could have got the W tonight without Corey. With our lack of scoring we can’t afford to miss FT’s especially down the stretch. Need to rebound and get Marist Sunday because it gets tougher soon. Glad to see Hogue back knocking off the rust.

If healthy, we’ve got as good a shot as anyone in AC. Defense uber-valuable in a Tournament.

Just finished watching the reply of the game. A pathetic first half by both teams. Better in the second half but we can’t seem to create any consistency on offense. The refs let them play tonight. So many calls that could have been made both ways. This will be our MO the rest of the way. Grind it out type of games. I can’t imagine Marist will be any different.

Agree with loyal. But for me the biggest head scratcher is the role Reid played. To his credit he has gone from a horrible shooter to a fair shooter. But he is compromised now by a bad hand- his fingers are taped together. His shots are all short. His ft% tonight was bad even though he is an ok ft shooter. So why is the ball in his hands late in the clock so often? He can still be helpful with ball handling and defense and rebounding. Right now his hand hinders his shot. We should have emphasized getting the ball to Clark or Ziegler. Even Randolph or Perkins would be preferable now. Frankly if I was Niagara and I had to foul late Reid might have been a prime choice bc of the hand. I believe he had 15 shots tonight which given his issues is far too many. So I’d have to say bad job by the staff in not adjusting to our circumstances. But getting outscored 31-12 down the stretch just won’t cut it. But maybe we’re starting to get healthier which is a good thing. Hope we can get righted at Marist Sunday which has been up and down now for a little while
