SP faces Rider tomorrow night. SP a 7 point favorite and 134. Rider has been a mystery to me. I thought they would be the odds on favorite to win MAAC regular season. James and Powell seem to be the big guns. James especially. Sow and Washington will have their work cutout for them. Rider isn't too deep though. Usually 7 maybe 8 guys see minutes. In addition, they average 36 rebounds a game. Hopefully, SP can wear them down in second half and get James in foul trouble. Shot fake in the lane by Washington may help. Hold serve at home and break even on road. Go Peacocks!

This game still worries me. Rider has experience and talent. Powell and James have been there forever. No idea why they haven’t been successful this year but hope they don’t wake up tonight.
Since I’ve been wrong on injuries all year I will go ahead and say Hogue still out tonight.

Youngalum, probably a safe bet that Hogue doesn't play. MAACDaddy nailed it about rebounding. The two things that concern me the most is rebounding and transition by Rider. They are very good at both. MAACDaddy also mentioned the propensity of SP in fouling. I couldn't agree more. I forgot which game it was, 2-3 games ago, where SP only had 4 fouls in the first 15-16 minutes of the game. It would be nice to replicate that tonight. Anyway, I like the Peacocks 71-63. Go Peacocks!

No Houge tonight. Still in street clothes.

Ugly half. 22% FG%. That will go up. Has SP even had a 4-0 run? I don't remember if they did. They should have a 12-3 run in them. Let's hope. Go Peacocks.

Can’t win a game shooting 30% from the field. Have to do better against Siena on Sunday.

We are in a funk. We are built on defense, rebounding, and foul shooting. If any of those three parts falter, we really struggle. We did not play well against Canisius and did not again against a not very good Rider team. Our regression is amplified by the loss of Houge and lack of bench contribution, especially from Clarke. Washington and Reid are the heart and soul of the team. If they do not play to their full capabilities for whatever reason, it is difficult for us to win. On to the next one and it won’t be easy.

Starting center and PG out for the season. Houge hurt; Corey banged up. Rotation players 8/9/10 seeing major minutes.
So far, have to give coach lots of credit for wringing the max out of this roster.
Need a little good health going forward; need Houge and Corey healthy for sure to legitimately contend.

Just a bad shooting night. We had 11 more field goal attempts than Rider, out rebounded them 40-39 and 17 -11 on the offensive boards. Also, Rider had 15 turnovers versus our 9. When Rider banked in a three point desperation shot with one second on the clock I knew it wasn't our night. I hope Washington is ready to go on Sunday.

We just couldn’t throw it in the ocean. More troubling was our problems defending inside. Roberts and sow were not up to handling James and Ingram. Maybe Corey would have handled James better but 2 quick ones hurt him. Why we play like our hair is on fire is beyond me. Rider needs to be frustrated yet despite the score we seemed to want to push too much pace and frankly in effectively. Zebras should be embarrassed to cash their checks. Their incompetence got both bland and Washington hurt on the same play and almost led to a fight. Hope Siena is a get right game

Without Houge and Washington, even Siena can beat us. No physical presence inside, even the Saint’s stone men, Gino and Glibben (sp), will beat us on the boards. Reid has to be worn to the bone. He can’t do it all by himself and defenses know it. Little/inconsistent threat from three, opponents just bunch up inside. Without our two “big men”, only the three and defenders can keep us close.

Ugly night. 11 more shots than Rider and 4 less made. To Figgy's point about playing like "hair on fire". Exactly. It seems like playing a 45 record on 78 speed. I get the fast break transition and pushing the ball, but even if SP is 2 on 1 or 3 on 2, the ball handler never passes. I can't put my finger on it but as JohnGalt mentioned, Reid has to be tired (if you noticed he had his ring and middle finger taped again). Without a healthy Washington, could be in bailing mode. I think Diahame has played his last game in '22. Hogue, who knows? I will say this, the "cone of silence" extends to other MAAC teams too. I've checked Canisius, etc boards and their fans are as in the dark as we are. I guess they take HIPAA laws to the extreme.
As was mentioned, Siena is bad but since Duragordon has been eligible, they are much improved. Washington needs to be healthy to guard him, as well as others.

I love Washington, but I’m afraid because he plays with such intensity and reckless abandon , he’s prone to frequent injuries . His health is essential to our success. Io Pavo

Latigo-glad to know ur seeing the same thing as me. When we get a live ball to it’s good to push but u have to see how many are back WHO is back and where ur help if any is. If the ball handler has a position/angle advantage it’s ok to go to the rim. If numbers or opponent personnel do not present advantage it is likely better to drive and kick. And it’s not illegal to just pull it and go to half court set. I made a couple of historic peacocks laugh at halftime by saying if they ran up and down as much in a half under Kennedy as we did vs rider they would have 55 points by halftime. We had 20

Agree Figgy. Spacing in transition is huge. Some of the shots underneath, looked like playing for a foul which resulted in just heaving the ball up with no plan. These officials did let both teams play.
I'm not sure why Sow is taking 3 point shots, especially when the shot clock is +17. He has as many attempts (22) as Clarke in pretty much the same minutes. I trust Clarke much more.
Anyway, bad night of shooting usually translates into a good day of shooting for the next game.
One thing I need to ask and pertains to Washington. The announcers said he was icing on the bench. I cant remember if they said shoulder or not. For those of you that were there, did you notice? Same shoulder that he injured earlier?
That is a nitpick of mine when it comes to the telecast. The camera never shows a player on the bench. If this were a Power 6 game, they would have shown him and probably talked adnauseum about the fall.
Last thing, is that KeeKee the shorter coach on the bench? He had on a light blue sport coat.
