I was saddened to hear of the passing of an Old Peacock and former poster here as well as one of the original founders of the Kennedy Club John T Cella of Sandy Springs Georgia in Sept. of 2021. I knew he had suffered a stroke previously and didn't hear from him in a few years.I will close with his mantra when he posted here,Io Pavo. _______

Sorry to hear of his passing. Although I knew of his illness , I suspected the worst when he did not react to our magical run. A daily communicant , may he rest in peace. Io Pavo semper !

Thank you for the information regarding John C. Cella. He was a dear friend of mine who lived in Roswell, Georgia about 5 minutes away from were I live . What a coincidence. He loved to have a few beers at an Irish Pub in Roswell Ga. where I would frequently meet him to discuss the Peacocks basketball team. He was a die hard fan. God bless him....I lost a good old time friend.

Watched Marist beat Iona last night on the Internet and Iona does not look to be better than anyone else in the league. They are playing without Shima but other than that, they looked ordinary like any other MAAC team and down in talent from past years. Their full court pressure will likely give us problems unless we learn to handle the ball better. Both teams went through scoring droughts last night and it looked like Marist actually had the better shooters. Marist made more clutch shots than the Gaels did. I see no reason why we can’t compete on equal footing with either team.
I have seen about half the teams in the league so far and we should be able to hold our own with any I have seen. Quiny and Canisius could be the teams to beat. I think the league is mediocre at best this season so we may actually have a shot.

Dreamweaver, spot on. I'll tell you a team that has taken a couple of steps backwards... Siena. Buffalo swing this weekend.
