Coach's and then Golf Team Meeting today, so stopped by to watch basketball practice. Without exaggeration it was the best and most intense practice that I have seen. Hope the enthusiam bodes well for the Fairfield game. Every player was involved and upbeat including those like Boone and Dennis who have seen little playing time.. Jamel led the charge congratulating each teammate on made shots. And without getting too political, anyone who thinks that John Dunne can't coach offensive plays or sets I'd invite them, as Cindy has posted, to attend a practice. That's all I'll say.
For those who follow recruiting much closer than I do, look for the name Bishop out of Queens. Think we are close. Blaise French, who attended practice also, spoke highly of the potential recruit as did JD. Think we are down to the final 2/3. With Q , Hawkins and Elias believe that we are concentrating on #1, #2 and #3's. I'll leave the rest to conjecture and speculation.

Guys will have to "circle the wagons" and raise their level of play to succeed this weekend.
Glad to hear about the focused practice. I hope the Iona win can be a catalyst.
If the club plays to its ability, SPU can make a deep run.

Let's hope we have to pencil in the MCCC PG third on the depth chart. :-)

I just got back from my cruise three hours ago but still got here to make this post .
Oldtimer , I had the limitations of watching the second Monmouth game on video stream as opposed to those who are eyewitnesses like you and Cindy . Mention Cindy because I have now discerned it is rather mandatory in posting here . I foolishly thought that Quadir outplayed both the Monmouth bigs by a rather wide margin in the second game . The statistics appeared to support that the Monmouth bigs did next to nothing the entire game . The announcers seemed to agree on it since they both talked quite a bit about Welton's major impact on the game without mentioning the Monmouth bigs at all . Well , I was to find out that was all pure conjecture and speculation from a poster who does not attend St. Peter's practices and games in person . You went to the game I believe , and found it necessary to tell us afterward that Quadir was not at the level of the Monmouth bigs . Now that I know that it is necessary to attend practices and see games in person to have such insight into Peacock hoops , I will make sure not to post conjecture and speculation myself or to read the conjecture and speculation of other posters here who do do not attend practices . I will stop there because I don't want to get too political . LOL . I usually don't find it necessary to post LOL but in your case I have found it to be quite the necessity .

In the spirit of pulling together for the Tournament, how about we table differences of opinion ''till March 10th?
They'll be plenty of time for us to debate PG recruiting, practice vs. results, facilities, offense issues, etc.
Ooooops! Almost forgot.....bet Cindy will agree. :-)

loyal , I was really getting upset by that post but then you mentioned Cindy . All is well now . I guess the physical status of Tyler Nelson will be a factor in the Stags game . Oops , there I go with conjecture and speculation again . SORRY !

junctionkid...why the attack? Your last post seemed apologetic unless I miss read and it was just pure sarcasim. I told you several times to leave me out of your personal attacks. What in the world did my above post say to set you off? Perhaps I should not have attended practice or let our loyal fans know that it was a very upbeat and positive sign. Doesn't mean it will necessarily carry through to Thursday night but I figured some of us would want to know.
And please take a course in reading comprehension. My use of the terms "conjecture and speculation" had NOTHING to do with our team or coach or you but referred to the recruit Jermaine Bishop. Others on this board follow our recruiting endeavors closely, I do not. So I referred to whatever " conjecture and speculation" was to follow concerning that recruit. Nothing to do with anything else! Paranoid?
I could retort to the rest of your post but you are not worth my time. However, I've suggested/warned you not to bring me up in your posts. Post whatever opinion you like but take your personal stuff out of it. Makes you look insecure and takes away from any valid points you make.

NOTHING is in caps . Does that mean it has the same emphasis as COWARD and LIAR ? Just asking ? And is it that you are suggesting/ warning me ? Could you be more specific . I do want to know how close that I can sit to you at practice if I take up Cindy on the advice to take in one of those .

NOTHING was in caps to emphasize that you obviously misread my use of the terms "conjecture and speculation". It had nothing to do with the players, coach or YOU (caps). Re-read, it was posted in my second paragraph and obviously referred to any speculation as to how the progress in recruiting Jermaine Bishop would go. As I said, others like to follow and comment on recruiting as both spcfan and Cindy did as a follow up. Provided me with additional information about the player that I was not aware of. That's what I meant by "conjecture and speculation", on the recruit!
Hope that answers your question. Difficult now to read your posts to me as legitimate or filled with sacarism. I'll take the higher road intreptetation and tell you that you are welcome to sit with me at a game or at a practice. I rarely hold grudges...life is too short. The ball is now in your court....and let's get back to hoops.

5'9 and shrinking but appreciate the COMPLEMENT . Cindy . I tend to get a bit giddy when the Peacocks are at the beginning of a seven game winning streak ( yes , we beat Duke again - sorry about the spoiler ). Cindy . Or maybe it was the fourteen Yeunglings that helped me get through another beautiful Winter day in New Jersey . Cindy . Or maybe it is the joy of having spent my first 32 years in the Garden Spot of the Garden State . Cindy . I don't know if this post was legitimate or sarcastic , and I made it . Cindy . Now I know why Oldtimer does it . It just feels so good typing Cindy .
