I doubt we have been picked higher in a pre-season publication since (gulp!) '95-'96.

For whatever it is worth, I just don't get the pre-season love for Siena.
The Saints are solid and will be in the mix, along with SPU, for one of the top five spots, but first place seems a little rich.
I think Iona and the Jaspers deserve to be the favorites.

I guess it is based on Siena's performance in a third rate tourney last season. All of these prognostications and five bucks will get you a cup of coffee at Starbuck's.

Agree with loyal's analysis and with Cindy's explanation. Siena will be in the mix but, as usual, way overhyped. Too early to tell but I fear Iona and Manhattan much more than Siena.
Would like to see JD pick us first at the Coaches luncheon just as he did in our Championship Season . Would show confidence in his team while sending the message that we can play with anyone.

Sporting News Basketball Magazine also picks SPU 3rd, after Iona and Siena. Quinny 4th, Manhattan 5th.

Kudos to the coaching staff. As noted above it's been almost 20 years since the Peacocks have gotten any love from the press.

Hope by now, we've learned these magazines have no clue. I know we all get hyped when the magazine articles come out, but remember, no one picked us to win the MAAC a few years ago. No way Siena is better than us.....same team and haven't added much to the line-up......always over hyped, especially since winning some pay-in bogus tournament. Iona and Manhattan are our main concern.
