A game we can win if Darius and Desi shoot like last game. We need at least two others from Yvon,Ffrench,Burke,Tucker or Ferguson to give us points and we can avenge a home loss that shouldn't have happened. It should be an easy Sunday drive to Riverdale, but I wish that hey had switched the game to an earlier hour so I could watch more pre game show speculation and hoopla. Jaspers an 8.5-10 point Vegas fav. I think I'd take those points. And how about some heat in drafty Draddy.

Decent effort today, but poor shooting (I guess 30%) from the floor and Conley and Tucker being helpless to defend or score against Brown sealed our fate. I think Brown blocked about 8 of our shots. Jaspers got a little home cooking to help their inside dominance + hit about 24/30 FT's. Darius got schooled today and that, in essence, was the difference in the two clubs. Brown went for 21 points and 10 rebounds. Conley 5 points, 2 rebounds. Desi shot OK before having to chuck up three desperation threes in the final 30 seconds. Lost twice this year to a very mediocre Jasper squad, who were missing the pre-season POY in both games and their PG in one of them. There is no joy in urban Mudville.

We held Manhattan to 12 field goals, created 19 turnovers and still managed to lose. Manhattan is as bad as we are shooting free throws and they go an incredible 30-36 while we go 7-9. That's it in a nut shell, plus our over all abysmal shooting.

Back from the game. Pleasure to sit today with Cindy and wife, Desi's parents and Elias' uncle. Pleasure to hear them just continually root for our team even though Desi had been in a shooting slump recently and Elias has not seen much playing time. The above cheered all players and coach while urging the team on. Great people.
As for the game, just frustrating to see that we can compete with so many teams in the league only to come up short. Just gotta keep trying.

Free throws from Jaspers uncharacteristically on target did us in. Same story as with Anosike up in Albany. why does everyone seem to shoot their best free throws vs SPU ? Conley again hurt us with early foul trouble then seemed to back off defensively when he returned for fear of picking up more. Hope to meet this team in the PIG as I think the outcome will be different. Glad to see Oldtimer there, too. It's important that these kids have hard core fan support, win or lose. They have not packed it in and are giving it their best for SP.
