A much needed win. Good to see the return of Desi's and Darius' marksmenship We do not win without these two putting points on the board. Lost in the excitement of Karee's exploits and Burke's steal, are Ffrench's 9 assists to 1 turnover and Yvons team high 7 boards. 5 for 11 from the line still almost cost us the game, as did one of the most incompetent group of referees that I have ever seen.

Tonights game
1) Both teams did not play well until the end but as I posted pre-game our players continued to play hard. A credit to both them and the coach.
2) A special shout out to both spcfan and Cindy. spcfan noted well before I did that JD was playing offense/defense substitution with Karee and Chris both before the end of the game and in overtime. Surprised jajk's basketball expertise did mention that in his post. Actually, won the game for us on the Chris Burke steal. Another shout out to Cindy who predicted (or hoped for the steal ) before the play was inbounded.
3) A special mention to Darius. Loyal was partially right when he said that Darius had "regressed" this year. I would have preferred to say that he hadn't been playing up the the MAAC level player he was. Darius played great tonight. However, what is often forgotten is that Darius is a warrior who plays defense every night AND on offense he shows more movement than anyone else on the team whether it's going to the high post or constantly setting picks for other players. Very few players in the league play both ends of the floor like Darius does.
4) Happy for Karee. A block, some rebounds and showed some effort and intensity clapping his hands and enjoying the moment. It obvious that he can really help us if he continue to play like this.
5) Chris Burke...non-existent most of the night passed up 2/3 open looks and missed his other two attempts. But if stealing the ball and making the game winning shot is an intangible (it's really a skill not and intangible) I'll take it any which way.
6) Foul shooting woes continue. Almost cost us again tonight. Certainly cost us several games this season. Anyway, well coached game and gutzy performance by our players. Hope we can build on this.

Post...don't post, it's your call . Sorry that I hurt your feelings but you were way out of line with your personal attacks on John Dunne and mis-comments about my posts. Would like to see you keep posting the positive things that you use to post about Peacock basketball. After all we share the bottom line...Peacock basketball success.

How bad of a tease was Ferguson tonite? Talk about woulda, coulda, shoulda. A wonderful athlete, probably All Maac bball skills but wasted for year and a half. Maybe w/out injury he would have figured it out by late last yr and been productive all this yr. We'll never know except we all saw his ability is flashes last year, but that he needed schooling which led to bench then injury. But he is the risky on the edge type talent we must take or get. When it works its great, when it doesn't its frustrating. Tonight's fight puts to rest idea that these guys were mailing it in and maybe some of that stale air I wrote about was vented by Karee tonight. Aside to Cindy at least I didn't get tossed in the second half like I told you I might esp since the black ref seemed to have rabbit ears even pointing a finger at Hamburger at one point. That group was just awful

figgy...glad you picked up on the black ref. We were saying the same thing opposite your side of the court last night. He even overtuned another refs call and that was amazing in itself. Don't know if you were at the Seton Hall game but he was the guy who took away a score, called our player for a charge and then a technical foul. Big turnaround as it was either a two or four pont game at the time.
Good post on Ferguson. Great to see him clapping his hands and getting excited when he scored. Even showed the agressive shooting that "my guy" Chris Burke didn't show tonight. Still out of postion once in while as he teammates had to give him some on the court instructions but Karee has that ability to shoot whatever his shortcomings. Also nice to see the block and rebounds. Hope he can build on last night.

Reflecting on this game and outcome makes me mindful of how fragile the outcome can be between victory and loss. Not to take anything away from the long hoped for win, but how critical we might be if the twist of the ball might have gone the other way. Not trying to dampen the spirit; hopefully this might be the encouragement some of our guys need to work even harder in the games ahead. No doubt all staff and team members should be congratulated for standing tall during these hard times.
On another note, unfortunate that jajk has chosen to abstain from posting. We can certainly use more participation and, despite what I considered to be his blind loyalty to our players, had some good insight into the game and unbridled love and passion for everything St. Peter's. Delicate sensitivities aside, his identity with the players, in my view, made him very antagonistic towards anyone who must necessarily assert rule and control over them. To me, John is highly disciplined and demanding of both himself and his players. What I have seen and heard tells me that he has the respect of his players, serving as a role model to many, who at first may not like his strong and demanding style. Ask many of his former players and I think you will see the admiration and respect that he has earned.
Don't wish to belabor the JD issue further. Again, disappointed if jajk has gone final on his decision to leave. While I wouldn't give a pass for objectivity, I would certainly accept his instruction in English Composition.

Wanted to stay out of this, but the appearance of the Puppy Dog in all his brilliance and the tail that wags him is hysterical.
The puppy with his loose bladder will always continue to wet anyone who thinks John has some serious flaws and follow it up with his need to proclaim who is a good poster or not.
The hypocritical love child of Ayn Rand went beyond the call of duty to evoke his cerebral powers to anoint John as a good coach invoking the tired facilities argument. Never in all his brilliance could he accept the possibility that John is the cause of what most see as pretty poor teams. I'll leave those discussions until after the season is over. But let us not forget that John is the same man who got into a shouting match with a parent over a pair of jeans. Discipline or not it was stupid and telling for the future. His little tag under his posts can say it the most with a little literary license.
"Much of the history of the Peacock basketball, over the past three decades, has been a history of replacing what would work with what sounded good."
Of course it only sounds good to Galt.

There you go again throwing in my name ( "tail that wags him") in your post about galt. Have I ever addressed you EXCEPT for when you come after me.
However, at least, I now understand that John Dunne, in your world is not only a bad coach but a bad person. Typical of your put down style that has been a constant on this Board ever since I joined.
Regarding your "jeans" story. I have no idea if it ever happened and, if so, glad to know that you were in the room ( of course you were not ) and know first hand the circumstances of what you post. Reminds me of another post you made in JD's second year revealing to all of us a semi-revolt that took place in the locker room. Fit your agenda, even way back then, until someone, I know not who, posted on a one time basis that what you described never happened. Remember it well!
Looking forward (not really) to your appearance after the season. These are the times when you are in your glory. Remember well that you didn't post for several weeks on our run to the MAAC Championship after bad mouthing not only our coach but several players. Never even had the class to congratulate the Team on their victory. Told me all I needed to know about you.
Have a great day.

Whew! Only some more self serving rubbish from one who again chooses to spread his feathers of division once more.
Had me worried...thought for a moment that you were announcing your departure from the board.
