I have a question. With a covid year, grad year blah blah blah, what players are technically eligible next year? Reid, if he goes to grad school? Diahame, should have a plethora of years left. But, is everyone technically eligible other than the portal guys? Thank you. I'll hang up now. First time caller, long time listener.

Latigo, for what it is worth, in my review of our roster , everyone could theoretically come back. Reid, Roberts, Clarke, and Diahame all appear to have one more year and Diahame could have two.
I would like to see us take portal transfers who are looking to come home, back to NJ/NY. They would be less likely to leave after one year in my opinion. So far, I am a little surprised that Perkins and Wood have not entered the portal but they may see real opportunity next season for a more important role. In any event, we need to upgrade our shooting for next season either with current players or additions through the portal.
I would hate to be a college coach under the current rules. It just sucks.

Thank you Dreamweaver. I agree about being a coach now with the portal AND NIL.
If history is a predictor for the future, I don't think SP will complete a full roster until late October. Fortunately, just 17 days til the portal closes.

weird, he would have been in line for a lot of touches with Washington gone. Im not sure he did enough consistently to move up. I try to keep in mind that some of these players don't want to leave but are asked for whatever reason, idk his but I hope he can go somewhere he can ball out. I thought he showed great flashes

yea looking at this, I wonder if he was asked to leave for some reason. SPU arguably has a better profile than most of those teams and with the MAAC getting stronger, we have more competition. We lack size and he played 4 positions so idk id understand if there was even 1 A10 school...either this is about being homesick or its someone else deciding

One year eligibility remaining he may be looking for a NIL payday somewhere. Otherwise only place on the list that sticks out a bit is Fresno State a Mountain West team arguably higher level with SanDiego State ,UNLV,Boise as members. Fresno coach was fired, they were 12-21 last year. If he were to come back he could be significant player next year as opposed to a first year head coach taking over a dumpster fire at Fresno.

For my 2 cents I wonder if many of the Portal transfers are not looking necessarily to get playing time at a higher or equal level Program but rather to collect some NIL money while sitting on the bench. Even if the money is not that great it still is something. Certainly, players entering the Portal should have higher aspirations/reasons but it would not surprise me if it is the money, no matter how small. Can't bad mouth any player for that but the way the system is setup, it's a reality.

Absolutely OT. Different situation but that’s why we see Rupert at Iona. For Hogue he’s been at 3 different schools now. I would say if the money isn’t much he should look at the value of a degree. I would love to see him back and hope he could get enough credits this next year to graduate from SPU but obviously he has to do what’s best for him.
One week to go for the portal. Let’s see what happens.
