Great win tonight to end the slide without the player that we can least afford to lose for any length of time in TW. Good night by Q and way to work on those free throws!! Too many ill advised passes by our guys was probably biggest negative. Maybe they were trying to hard to compensate for not having TW. Didn't think the whistle was very kind to us tonight either but that was from watching a tough video feed. On to Niagara.

Gutsy performance in pressure game . Have to admit that there was point in mid second half where I didn't think our guys could pull it off despite the great effort . It was simply put , an outstanding performance by Antwon in every aspect of the game . He was absolutely key on both ends . Performance showed that he is still right there with the best of this frosh class despite recent slump . Tonight was a classic effort by him to balance more aggressiveness and more discipline at same time . And I got a kick out the postgame comment in which he complemented Chazz on his monster three and knew that Chazz had made exactly three threes . Quinny threw three guys at Q at center and he was still everywhere for us battling in every way . Just such a pleasure to watch this young man play . I believe it was 36 minutes tonight and still going on the boards and on D and running the court and making the right pass and the right screen to the very end . Oh my !

Great effort tonight and (let me use my word here) a good show of MENTAL toughness. I even saw Elias dive to the floor. Gritty performance tonight from all! Great Win! #GoPeacocks!!!!

Portly superb shooting and handled the point well. Did not look tired at all. Q huge on the boards and clutch 5 in a row at the line in crunch time 6-7 and yet another double double.Steady game from Cam and Boone but my unsung hero was Chazz whose three pointer started the 15 -0 run and who did a superb job om McLean all night long. Can you say MAACs best defender. Also almost forgot good minutes from Sam. Game plan hiding the loss off Wyche through passing rather dribbling...don't recall shot clock winding down all night either. One final note you seldom complain about the refs when you win big but these guys were poor. Moving screens ignored all night as well as over the back rebounds and countless charges and hacks ignored. Could have been a 30 point win.And these are the new Big 10 refs...not very good.

Great game. Not great feed but I'll take it. Guys came together and played a solid game. Through the 7 on 5 ( refs were awful) they fought and did it. Portly handled the point well, key was he kept it simple, and seemed to get over the shooting hump. There were a couple errant passes in game but those happen in all games. Chazz great D, clutch shots. Q getting better and better, just can't have him handle too far from rim. Great start for Cam, Boone playing better each game, Sam I'd like to see get more min, hate to say but some of Elias min, he has been struggling, took couple charges tonight but still having rough time. Rodney if we can keep him out of foul trouble. Hoping for TW to be able to play or give some minutes Friday, Niagara does press at times and we need TW, AP and CP to break that press. Surprised Quinny didn't try tonight. If they can keep playing like they did tonight and add TW in mix, good things can only come from it. And yes the guys looked rested and ready. Well hoping this is start of some needed wins, one game at a time. AGAIN GREAT JOB BY PEACOCKS

Most has already been said, but how about the improved foul shooting from Welton and Boone. It's obvious both have worked to improve their game. Heard Welton takes hundreds of foul shots after practice to improve himself from the foul line. Nice win over decent team that was playing well coming into this game. Needless to say, we really needed this win. I'll be flying in from Atlanta to watch the Niagara and Canisius games this weekend. Would like to meet up with some of the faithful board posters. Cindy, I know where you usually sit in the stands.....may need a tooth pulled.

Among my biggest wishes for the balance of the season is that Elias gets to finish his Peacock career on a high note . We all like wins more than losses but most fun is watching and rooting for these young men representing us compete , particularly those who do it over four years . It was nice to see assistant coach give Elias a special mention as to his contribution to last night's win on post game interview .
It was also good to hear our play by play guy - who we are lucky to have - give special note about the best part of Chazz coming through with that vital three late in the game was he made it on possibly very tired legs after another great effort on D for us . This is particularly true for an athletic jump shooter like Chazz . Shades of our great Wesley . We might get guy at the three slot who would give us more on the offensive end than Chazz does , but how much would we lose on the defensive end if this young man were not here to clamp so many of the best offensive threats on the other team .
Sub pattern by staff was solid again . Defense was key to getting us in a position to win this one . While Chazz and Q lead the way there , it was team defense played by every player on the court for us . Cam and Elisha had big contributions with lots of energy and improving fundamentals in their minutes on the court .
Also fun to watch our guys being aggressive with long passes even after we took lead late in game . Some call it undue risk , but I'll take Antwon's ( and Q's ) taking the risk when we have the advantage . Dislike the prevent offense in hoops as much as the prevent defense in football .
