Well game is done. First the defense was a welcome plus, much improved. We had some baskets go in and out, we got some questionable calls against us, effort was there, we just didn't execute. Marvin hampered by fouls, 9pts, Q def not well, Trevis, Boone, Tyler 8 apiece. Chazz scores. More guys trying to score, that a plus. If we can get ball in basket, we win. I agree with OT and some of junction, Trevis is best when attacking but also shooters have to be ready to shoot if the defense collapse on him and he dishes out, they can't put it on floor and start the passing game again. Yes Mel pushes ball faster but is result not the same, the passing around still occurs. I do note one thing, I have seen both guards push ball at times, and half the time they would probably beat most of their teammates down. Team has a tendency to jog down court instead of running so those times pushing the ball is moot cause you have to keep dribble and wait for them to turn around therefore the defense gets set ergo the passing game. Think Trevis did better this game, hope he breaks out the slump, let's not beat him down so to speak. Boone 8mproving, Elias gets raw deal in games, Chazz and Tyler need keep shooting and being ready to shoot. Just my opinion

Agree that Chazz and Ty need to keep shooting. In the first few games they were hesitant and "double clutched" often. Chazz is decent and Tyler has the potential...keep shooting and being agressive. Boone, as noted in the Niagara game, looks to the hoop. A true slasher and decent leaper. Looks like he can make things happen. Hawkins impresses me the same way. Just hope he is not too undersized.
Also glad that in a couple of games we tried to half-court trap. Like to see more of that...tends to make things happen. Old saying "you're never as bad as you look when things are going bad, nor as good when things are not going well." We are not this bad. Let's get healthy and open some eyes of those who are already dimissing us.

OT , you just can't help yourself . You posted your take on the game . I took it as your opinion and made no reference to it . But you just had to attempt to talk about my opinion as if I had no right to put it forth because it disagrees with your opinion . So let's review your initial post about the game . It was "...there is nothing good to take out of this last game or the last three . " Let's look at another portion of it "our three point shooting is atrocious and no one except Marvin has stepped up " . Now you criticize others as possibly dismissing us early when you posted that there was NOTHING good to take out of the last three games. Now all of a sudden you are saying Chazz is a decent shooter and Tyler has potential . You do indeed like to talk out of both sides of your mouth in that desperate need to be right at some point .
Let's look at a quote from your reaction to my post . "Perhaps I was right when junctionkid derided my point of view that unless Q stepped up or we get another scoring threat ,we'd not be much better than a mid-tier team. Was I right or wrong ? " We all know how much more your being right is to you - much more important than the Peacocks . So tell us . Were you right or wrong ? You tell us . Oh , that's right , you already told us in the next sentence . To paraphrase , it was something to the tune of if everything in the world goes right for the Peacocks , you remain hopeful . And if it doesn't , you can preach to us that you were right . Are you running for office ?
And ,OT continues to be a Trevis supporter even though he seems to relish in telling us that Trevis has played poorly in every game to date and Trevis takes 8 seconds to get the ball over the timeline and then dribbles , dribbles , dribbles . ( and don't tell us that was other poster's words -they were words you posted ). I would like to see the comments when OT becomes a Trevis detractor . And any who watched all the games know that neither comment about Trevis was close to accurate . OT , if you would like another opinion- ask your close buddy in the coaching fraternity . When Trevis and Jamel are both in the game together , who does he give most of the point guard responsibilities to . Just ignore my future posts , and you need not worry about me ever mentioning your sorry ass again .

Sitting here at work. A free moment. All this posting, one thing is apparent, most of us are Peacock fans who still believe in team. some seem to throw in "hidden shots", I don't believe they are true fans or Peacock people. One truth, no one player has caused the losses. No matter what level you play or sport you play, there will be the slump, the bad game, the great game, the one that got away game, bottom line if you can't get the ball in the basket, can't kick a goal, get a tiny ball into a hole yards away, you don't win. I will continue to support our team as all true fans will. And look forward to that TEAM turnaround. With effort, results happen and we do show great effort.

junctionkid...here we go again! Don't really want to deal with you. However, since you have said that you are a graduate and had a successful business career I assume that you have become senile... since your reading comprehension and logic is way out of wack. Unfortunately, I now have to respond to your misrepresentations above.
1)FYI, it's possible to support and root for someone and yet be realistic and say that that person is not playing well. Guess you can't understand the difference. My intial commenst about dribbling too much initially came from another posters. Now that poster ( and other observers0 can speak for themselves but those observations were, indeed, accurate. But did you attack them?....of course not! Nor the others who have observed that Trevis has not been playing well. Guess what, Trevis , except for some brief stretches has played poorly in every game as has EVERYONE else, save Marvin. But you choose to put that blame solely on the Coach and his system....rediculous.Read my posts, everyone needs to take responsibility and that includes the Coach. However, wasn't it the same system that Trevis played so well in last year? Finally, you also question that I root for Trevis. Let me spell it out... the team needs him.
2) Next, yes I posted that I found it hard to take anything positive out of the last four games. Q has not recovered, Chazz and Tyler ( my favorite player as was Chris Burke and Nick before him) has only showed one burst of his potential, Elias is struggling etc. And so there was NOTHING much to take out of the last four games. That doesn't mean that things can't be turned around but obviously you didn't omitted that part of my post. Your conclusion was a classic non-sequitor.
3) Again, you either have a reading problem or more likely, selective memory. I don't have to ask my "coaching buddy" ( I assume you mean JD) what he thinks of Trevis. Go back and read that I posted quite a while ago that JD really likes Trevis. Trevis is our point guard ( another term you way overuse ) and that Fields is the backup. Everyone knows that but your backhand swipe at Jamel was not only in poor taste but inaccurate. News for you, both are friendly with each other, and both bring different things to the team...both good!
4) My comments on Chazz and Tyler. An outright lie to say that "all of a sudden " I discovered that Chazz was a decent shooter. NO...I posted way back that Chazz had earned a starting spot, while Desi was out, due to his performance and shooting in pre-season. FORGOT? As to Tyler, next to Marvin, my favorite player. Has a great looking shot which he showed glimpses of in the 2nd half of the Niagara game. I root for Tyler just as I rooted for Chris Burke. Yet if he doesn't play or shoot well someone has to say it. That's called being honest with yourself, something you need to learn.
5) I could care less about being right. But in all honesty I did enjoy sticking one of my opinions back at you. To refresh you memory, I merely posted MY OPINION that despite returning 4/5 starters I was not that optimistic about the Season UNLESS Q took a step forward in reaching his potential and that we find a 3rd scorer. You came back at me personally, conveniently omitting that rest of that quote. I regret that we are 0/4, rather 4/0. Wish I was wrong but it was fun to stick your over the top personal criticism back in your face.
6) Finally, please stop wrapping yourself in Peacock glory and tradition. It gets old, especially from someone I never heard of. And yes, great Peacock fan that you are and living in New Jersey get off YOUR "sorry ass" and attend a game. Post all you want, reasonable people can disagree ( see my post with figgy a few days ago) but they do it with respect. You don't. If I agree with you I'll say it. If not, I'll merely state my opinion but if attacked personally I will respond. As to your final comment that I "need not worry", I can assure you that I don't. As you can see, I can handle all you can throw very well. Have a good day!

Its fun to watch the repartee, but it does surprise me that few recognize the common denominator through this opening sequence. There is very little difference between Dunne's first season and the following eight seasons. Poor offensive flows, losing to inferior teams with regularity. Argue all you want on individuals or that we might be just that bad, but try and watch other coaches. Some are saved by superior talent, but at our level there are some pretty good coaches, as they have to be with the quality of talent at our level. Like most I want the team to win, and will wait out the season. Most know I think the coach is the prime source of the great nine years we have been watching. Just wondering why people who think they are loyal fans, don't think they should complain about the less than mediocre performances we get to view year after year. Players have changed, but the system has not. I actually question if they are real fans if they don't point out the problems. Yes Galt, I know it is the bricks and mortar, but smart people might also look at other causes. also
