Up 3 on the last hole with Edmunds finishing with a great second shot to the pin for the closer.

Congratulations to OT and his men...great win. What was up with the braodcasting crew being clueless for so long on the team championship. Was it a case of Florida hanging chads ?

Win by 4 strokes. Truly a team effort. Congratulations to the squad and especially to OUR coach who leads the Peacocks to their first MAAC Golf Championship.

Congratulations to OT and his men...great win. What was up with the braodcasting crew being clueless for so long on the team championship. Was it a case of Florida hanging chads ? Followed the stats site which actually had the final scores about 10 minutes before the announcers. Seemed they spent time more congratulating the women winners and the individuals rather than the men champs. Would have been nice to have our winning men's coach on at the conclusion for a few deserving words.

How great is it to see the concrete campus beat the grassy suburban schools? Congratulations to the players and coach!

2014 Men's Maac Golf Champions!! Awesome job. Congrats to OT and his boys. Echo runbabyrun, great to see our urban school thrive in golf.
I too was disappointed in ESPN coverage. Seems like Niagara got more coverage at 50 strokes back then our boys in the lead! They didn't even mention the team race or who was winning until the very end. I guess I can't complain too much for live free coverage, but felt they could have done better.
OT hope you plan on staying for a long time!! Im sure it will be nice to go recruiting with a shiny ring on your finger!

Congrats to the players and coach!
With a stray shrub or two representing "nature" on campus, a MAAC Golf Championship is quite an accomplishment for St. Peter's.

He actually got a nice comment from the announcers about his technique of taking the kids out to the fairways for iron shots to the green. The balance is something all teams should wish for. Congrats.

I want to add my congratulations to coach and players.
I've been gone for almost 9 years now, but I'm guessing it's still a tall task for Saint Peter's to win a championship in a lot of sports.
For one thing, golf isn't synonymous with a place like Jersey City, the Barclay's notwithstanding. It's certainly not like Fairfield, where there are literally dozens of courses within a few miles of the campus gates.
On top of that, the financial rewards of coaching at Saint Peter's are not great. In my limited personal interaction with oldtimer and reading his posts here, I realize that it's a labor of love, both of the school and of golf.
He may not know it, but probably about 20 years ago, he donated some print material from the Don Kennedy era that was invaluable to me in piecing together what I learned about the history of Peacock basketball. There was already some good material in the files and I had the good fortune to learn more over the years from talking to people like Bob Leckie, Bernie Cicirelli, Sr, Fred Cranwell, Mike Granelli, Joe Palermo, and Bill McKeever. But that donation of memorabilia from oldtimer filled in so many blanks. I only hope that the material is still there as a research source for future SIDs.
For the kids and the coach to put together a championship season is truly a source of pride.

Peacocks head to Chicago to take on Purdue (and others) in NCAA Tourney...sounds familiar.
Top 5 teams out of 14 team field moves on. Good Luck to OT and his guys. Whatever happens it will be a great experience for a team without a senior player!

Thanks youngalum. When I first became coach and as a golfer myself I knew that potential college recruits wanted to play on the best courses and the best Tournaments...we have done that. Looking at the list of Regional Teams we have played in many Tournaments which featured some of these Team. We have played against Purdue, Missouri, Tennessee and several others. No fear factor here.
Amazed at how low the Northeastern Teams are ranked. Just look at St. John's seeded 13th! in their Regional. Our Program is still on the rise and we should be competitive with many of the Teams.
