Ice cold SPC......can't throw the ball in the ocean. Offensive ineptitude. Down 4 with 2:29 left. Shooting 29 pct. in second half and missed 3 1 and 1's. Painful to watch.

Down 4 with a minute to go.
Conley and Desport painfully slow on "D"......Ffrench playing well, but that's about it tonight. FT shooting worse than CYO ball.
Midget Knights quicker up front than us.
Rutgers seems ages ago. That's college hoops!

Call off practice for a week ,have all but one or two completely scrap their free throw styles, and try something new, because the way you're doing it is just not working.I haven't checked but it would be hard to imagine that there is a worse free throw shooting team in the country. I can't imagine that game preps for BU and Iona could benefit us more than increasing our free throw percentage from tonight's 31.6% to something closer to 70%. I think the free throw % by blindfolded fans pulled from the stands during timeouts was not a whole lot worse...disgraceful for Div I scholarship players. Putting that aside is, Tucker the only one who can finish down low ? I agree, loyal with your Roberto Duran reference. Interior defense was poor tonight also with FDU frequently hitting cutters of our double teams. And the DID finish. Prescott and Ferguson ,early season starters last season, completely out of the mix. Must right this ship Saturday.

Horrible performance tonight by a team that we should have beat by double digits. No excuses, we were that bad. We let a team hang around in the first half and we paid for it.
Yes, our foul shooting was again a horror show but even if we made our fouls (including front ends of 1 on 1) and eaked out win, it was still a very poor performance.
For the fans that weren't there, it's intertesting that Chazz, after his performance at Seton Hall, was the first backcout sub over Prescott. Think you will see a lot more of him on the floor.
Ferguson has not seen the light of day Don't expect much this year as others have posted. Pat Jackson plays excellent defense and has a nose for the ball off the boards but I doubt if he will give us anything more than that...will depend on matchups how much he, Desport or Tucker plays. Desport can shoot but also has no inside game. Also was frequently lost on defense. He's trying but this season will be a learning curve as with Chazz.
Bottom line is that we lost a game that we should have won. Why? Poor performance and yes foul shooting. We didn't look good at all.

How ignominious ? I just checked the stats...we are shooting 43 for 88 on free throws for the season.48.8% Ranked dead last #347 of Div I schools in the nation. Trailing Mississippi Valley St. #346 at 51.9 %. Tonight was bad, but it's not like we had an off night.we are consistent in our inability at the line.

A tough loss to take with a tough Boston team up next and conference play a week away. If you look at the schedule over the next month, this could start to get ugly after a very promising start. I think it's safe to say our opponents have adjusted to what was put on film the first few games...now it's time for JD to make the adjustments. The question is does he have the players to do it? We have a very solid backcourt with French and Washington and in the frontcourt with a healthy Conley, but like last year it seems we are very limited everywhere else. A very athletic team throughout the roster, but a lot of one dimensional players who weaknesses get exploited as the season goes on. As i posted earlier, the success of this season will be finding a consistent mix with our "second tier" players- Raymond, Burke, Patterson, Desport, Jackson, and Tucker.
It's amazing how the outlook on a team can change in a week or so. We were riding high after the 3-0 start, but looking back after six games, we've now lost 3 in a row, including losses to two of the "most pathetic programs in the country."

Its still early, but strange how much of the same problems that existed in the prior six season are still present. Very poor half court offense and inadequate recruiting. No need to hash over past arguments, performance will always tell you what you have. So give it another 5-10 games than we can go into or usual who or what is to blame arguments. Only thing settled last night was the termination or the dispute in the Decent Read tread. Doubt Dunne is going anywhere for this or the next three seasons.

Yes it's still early, but apparently not too soon to surface from the marshland to educate on our very poor half court offense and inadequate recruiting efforts. If only we had a staff that could teach better half court offense and attract much better recruits, given all the outstanding resources we offer vs other schools. No doubt our talent level is far above what has been demonstrated and with better instruction, would dominate the opposition.

I'll leave to you to educate the group, considering your inability to even read and understand what is written. It would appear that no one understands anything about your position other than you can't stand to be proven wrong year after year. So go on with your tirade on what a crappy school we have while I'll just watch the development of the program.

I don't know what it is but we just cannot recruit players who can shoot, or at least Dunne does not play them. FDU was a far superior shooting team than us as was the Hall and Central Connecticut. Of the five starters we put on the floor, only two can shoot, Conley and Washington. While Ffrench and Raymond can score, neither is really a very good shooter. Maybe we need to just play our shooters with Conley as the only big man and no true point guard. Our shooters are Washington, Conley, Prescott, Ferguson, Tucker, and Patterson. Maybe we should start five from this group and have Raymond, Ffrench, Jackson, Desport, and Burke fight for minutes off the bench. When we won the tournmanet a few years back, we were not a great defensive team but we had those four seniors who could all give us points with four guys who could shoot if you include Samuels. Maybe we win more games if Dunne gives time to players who can shoot instead of just defend.
