The point guard mentioned above is a junior. He would be for 2012 when we lose Hall and possibly Ffrench if he decides to graduate in four years so that we would need a point in that class.

From the Post today: Jordan Parks
15PPG and 6'6 from Queens Campus Magnet third place AA league ? The best we can do?
Jordan Parks thought he had it all figured out. He would go to prep school, which would allow him to further develop and see his college offers increase. But recently, the Campus Magnet senior is having second thoughts.
“I didn’t realize it was going to be this difficult,” said the versatile 6-foot-6 wing, who just turned 17 and led Campus Magnet to a third-place finish in Queens AA, averaging 15 points per game. “I got to make my decision by the end of April.”
He’s been offered by Hofstra, St. Peter’s, Quinnipiac and Delaware State. He has interest from Seton Hall, Fordham and others. The question, Parks said, is whether prep school is worth it? Will his options improve or is he better to stick with a school that has made it clear how much it wants him. “I’m young and since I missed that year of school, prep school would be great for me,” he said, later added: “I’m leaning towards going to St. Peter’s. That’s my top choice right now.”
6'6" leaper teamate Amdy Fall we had supposedly offered is deciding among Quinnipiac, Robert Morris and Marist

JP is listed at 6'3" on the Campus Magnet (gulp!) website.
Permit me to state the painfully obvious....with only two to give and a gaping hole upfront/inside, the logic here escapes me.
Cindy.........we can only hope Felician doesn't jump in at the eleventh hour. :>)

He's 6' 6" for sure and still growing......needs to put on some muscle. Very athletic and can leap. I think he's a good get with a nice upside, but not an immediate contributor. Let's face it......we very rarely bring in freshman recruits that contribute in their first year. We don't have time to wait for a transfer to become eligible, so we really need a JC guy like Belin who can bring immediate relief. I do know that Dunne has several on his radar.

What's frustrating is that we are SO close to becoming another really good team next year. Unlike football, where you have to recruit a slew of players, we only have to fill two slots to be a MAAC contender. Even one, would really help........look what one guy like Glover did for Iona.

Notice the height.
From the Rivals site
"Jordan Parks is a 6'5" senior from Campus Magnet High school in Queens, NY had impressive stats in his final year at the PSAL School.
M. Wingate Jordan Parks Averaging 15.6 points per game and increasing his average to 18 points per game in the playoffs, Parks proved that he had the skills to compete at the next level. NYCHoops.net spoke with Parks to find out his future plans.
When asked about his preference from a recruiting standpoint, Parks cut to the chase saying, "I'm looking at St. Peter's, that my top choice."
Parks says he's received an offer from the MAAC School and is excited about the possibility of playing with the Peacocks. "I think I will fit in there. I went to a couple of their games to watch their system. They run but they stay calm. They don't over exaggerate everything. They look for each other. They're not a selfish team," said Parks. "I feel if I were to go there I think I would play. I don't wanna go somewhere where I'm not going to play," he said.
Another possible option says Parks is to go to a Prep school. "Hofstra offered to send me to prep school for a year and then bring me in under a scholarship," said Parks who added while he's weighing the option, he's not leaning in that direction. Parks said, "If the opportunity is there and I have the chance to take and I know it will be good for me I think I should take it," he said regarding the offer from St. Peter's.
In addition to St. Peter's and Hofstra, Parks says that most mid-majors have shown interest. Schools like "Seton Hall, Quinnipiac, Delaware and North Eastern." The senior forward, however, reiterated that St. Peter's is the school that has shown the most interest. "[St. Peter's] is the school that's coming at me [the hardest]."
Parks says that he will definitely make his decision by the last week in April.
To prepare for college basketball Parks says that there are aspects of his game that need to be developed. "I definitely gotta improve on my ball handling because on the next level I won't be playing a big man," said Parks. "[St. Peter's] said I would be playing the 3."
In addition to working on his skill set, Parks says he also has to add muscle to his frame saying, "I'm a little frail right now."
Parks seems to know where he wants to go and what he needs to get there but will put the period on that sentence in April."

Sorry, but if the offer is correct, doesn't say much about our efforts to capture a big man. Not sure what the height says if, as he claims, we are looking at him as a 3.

Parks is still growing......thus the height listings of 6'3", 6'5" and 6'6". Most sites list him as 6'6". Hell, he may be 6'9" by the time he stops growing and be a 5 instead of a 3. Remember Thompson from Rider kept growing and the classic case is Navy's David Robinson.

Close but no cigar. Ede Egharevba
Egharevba, a 6-foot-6 wing who just finished his postgraduate year at Mack Academy (N.C.), made it official Saturday afternoon, verbally committing to Wichita State and coach Gregg Marshall. He chose the Missouri Valley Conference program over Hofstra and Saint Peter’s.

No, but I am hoping.
I have heard we are aiming high (like with this kid) but we have to hit the bullseye on the front line at least once.............or next year is down the tubes, with limited rebounding, limited inside defense and very limited scoring. If anyone mentions Costner or Hill as part of the "answer" for next season, I'll get depressed. :<( You've been warned.
If we know it, Coach knows it 100x. JD "movin' on up" obviously is contingent upon future success; we know he wants to move up and out (understandable), am sure he is trying like heck to make sure next year is not a total wash, with only Conley up front.
Let's keep our fingers crossed. With JD locked in (probably for at least two years, for all practical purposes) hopefully it is not too late to land some ready to contribute front liners.

This was only a secondary target, but then again, we seem to have lost most of our primes. Unless a savior suddenly appears from out of the area or JUCO, we will not have a big recruit that is ready for play. Several transfers and '12 recruits are apparently shopping us, but this does not give any comfort for this year.
Can you say, at power forward........Yvonne Raymond.

Ha, no I check this site every day hoping to hear some good news!! My guess at next year as the roster currently stands: 1 Hall, 2 Prescott, 3 Samuels, 4 Conley, 5 Hill

That would really be unfortunate, as Prescott, Samuels, Fulton and Conley could be a pretty nice nucleus, with Raymond providing good bench stregnth. If Hall and Hill are in the first six rotation, it will be a long, painful season, period. We will not be able to rebound, score or defend inside. Ouch. Dunne is a smart cookie. If the front line cupboard is as bare as it is now in a few weeks, I would be very surprised...........and resigned to being back in the PIG Derby. I HAVE to think Coach has a front line player or two up his sleeve...........but am surprised we're a week into the signing period with no announcement. Let's try and stay optomisitc.....or at least hopeful. :>)
