Star Ledger is reporting that Gamal Mohamed (6'2") of Immaculata has drawn interest from Toledo, Eastern Kentucky, NJIT, Bloomfield, Monmouth & SPC. He was selected 2nd team All State by the Star Ledger. He averaged 19 pts., 5 assists & shot 80% from the line. Won MVP in '08 & '09 Non-Public A MVP awards. Clutch player and team oriented. Appears to be under-recruited. He would be great addition to team.

A good friend of mine has a son who plays on their JV and saw all their games. Tells me he really likes this kid's game but the caution is he played mostly inside on a small Immaculata team.

Two additional names on extended list are Tywon Clarke 6-3 PG/SG Hyde School Connecticut played in high school at Lehman in the Bronx. Lists SPC as recruiting him in some publications. Another name just picked up on Jin Hong 6-7 210 Archbishop Molloy in Queens. No other info on him but the kid mentioned us as recruiting him on the web in a couple of places. No info on him. One of the Coffeyville Juco kids who mentioned us signed with Loyola Chicago. Have spoken to someone about Mohammed who confirms Sludge's post on the kids skills. Have to think if we got him would be a nice addition.

Hong appears a project, offers little early help, and does not complement what already exists. Clark is a low major prospect who did not improve his stock as a senior. A tough, big guard who is quick but, like Hall, does not have good perimeter game. Gamal may have to be an option. He is a shooter and, in certain situations, might give us some immediate, albeit temporary offense. Question remains, can he get decent looks at this level? Still no word on our primaries.

Sorry if this has already been discussed....saw the following in Jim Hague's column this weekend...if true, do you guys think he would be a good fit for us??
Rumors persist that former St. Anthony point guard Jio Fontan, who was one of the top freshman performers in the Northeast this past season for Fordham University, has asked the school for his release in order that he could transfer to another school, but Fordham athletic officials have denied his request for a transfer waiver, so Fontan remains at Fordham for the time being…

Yes. Maybe even as high as Siena.

As much as we all hate to admit it after these last 2 NCAA appearances Siena seems to be in with kids who are considered A 10 or sometimes better level players than the normal for a MAAC school. I would argue that the lower end of the A10 is not better than the MAAC same with the MVC or the Mid American but i see them recruiting the same players as those conferences. Fontan was thought to be very interested in SPC after his junior year at St Anthony's but wound up going to a perceived higher level Fordham which turned out to be lower level .Haven't seen us mentioned by the kid since.
