Here is Purdue playing thier best. Pretty good video and you can see that we actully do play with 5 players (although the movie Hoosiers is referenced and they did play with 4 once).



If you want to see us at our worst, pull up the game at Ohio State.

Funny thread to read . Does not make me want to take back my previous thread giving a shout out to Gael fans for their gracious reaction to the tourney loss but strange way to support a fellow conference team to a Big Six interloper .

One Gael fan posts 'they( Peacocks ) will not score 50 points . They will not be allowed to hang all over Purdue players . Purdue 80- SPC 49 . " At one point in our win over the Gaels ( until Iona was so far behind they were " playing our guys tight" trying to get back in the game ) Iona had taken 17 foul shots and the Peacocks 2 . It was the Iona players grabbing fistful of jerseys in halfcourt defense not the Peacock players . It was a whistle when just about any Iona player went to the hoop and one when our guys went to the basket . And here's a guy blaming the loss on reffing . Reminds me of when our guys last year gave Siena's outstanding team more than they wanted at the TUC . When then assistant coach , Mitch was asked in post-game presser why the Saints coud never pull away in the game , his response was that the ' refs let SPC player grab , hold and push our guys all night ' . When Mitch was named Siena coach , I thought back to that thinking " hey , don't mind at all going up against a coach who brings that kind of excuse mindset into a game . " Thankfully for the Gaels , this poster won't be coaching Iona next season .

Another Gael fan explains away the loss "as SPC playing over their heads in the tourney" . He says he is not bitter but Iona and FF are better teams - they clearly showed that in the regular season .. I believe this is a poster who has stressed many times for many years that the import of those three days in March dwarfs the import of the regular season . Let's put it this way . SPC played over the heads of Iona and FF when the pressure of securing a tourney bid was on the line .

Another goes back to old refrain that SPC' s only way to win is to ugly up a game . When their players press and turnover SPC , it is great defense or SPC folding . When SPC players play honest and consistent defense for 40 like few players are willing or able to , it is " ugly " . Right .

Way to support a fellow conference team to a Big Six ass , guys !

Just my choice to define the gap between what the writer intended and what the reader absorbs.

More seriously, enjoy the new visitors who allow for some good banter between the haves and the have nots. Generally very dull here, with the most action, between those who have felt Dunne lacked good coaching skills, vs. those who believe he has done a fine job, given our resources. (Note: Those naysayers have been astonishingly absent of late). Again, nice to have the hits. Before your arrival, we had fewer than Bill on Hillary.

3,102 views . The yeomen effort by the twelve of us has finally paid off with more than a thousand fold increase in the SPC fan base . More seriously , will the Georgetown fans prove capable of keeping this pace up ? Remember when we you use to play the Hoyas every year .

I did some reading up on SPC over the past 4 years. You guys have had a remarkable turnaround to your basketball program. Its great to see your seniors cap off their careers with a tourney bid.

I hope you are able to continue the upward trend and battle for the NCAA bid every season.

Good luck on Friday against my alma mater... but not too much.

Relax , we'll just wait to watch replays of Friday's game for that . But thanks for that video . I got the chills watching it . I hope the Peacock players don't see it and not get on the plane . But I will post a video for the Boilermaker fans to return the favor . Its our 100-71 thrashing of Blue Devils in postseason but I will warn that the kinescope hasn't held up all that well .

Being an SPC alum and Jersey guy born and raised I am quite familiar with Indiana basketball. I have taken many trips out to Indiana to see most of my family that lives there, usually twice a year. As many of my family are alums of Valpo and IU, I have always watched Big Ten and whatever Valpo games I can catch.

I understand most Purdue fans don't understand why we are so happy the Peacocks made the tournament, which is why they are taking it as us being cocky. Most don't know what its like for their team to not make the dance 16 years in a row. When it finally happens that you have a team good enough to make it, how could anyone blame us for thinking that our run isn't over yet?

With that said, I respect Indiana basketball, but I also respect Jersey City basketball as well. Time after time through the last four years these players have done things that some of us never thought were possible, so we keep the faith.
