Latigo, great guess on the final score going with 69-66 prediction....almost dead on. Very sloppy game, but I have no problem winning ugly on the road. If Washington didn't lose some injury time, we would have at least two more MAAC wins.

Randolph has a very nice release on his 3 point shot. Also, amazing how much Washington has improved his 3 point shots. Pray to God he doesn't go into the portal. Different subject......Fairfield just beat Quinnipiac 85-81 on the road. The MAAC is wide open.

Agree with comments from all. Nice to win on the road. Not going to lie…I had my moments of nearly throwing a shoe through the TV. Thankfully, the last 5 minutes or so we tightened up the defense and held the Mount in check to allow for the comeback and win. As others stated, Washington really is special. Reid showed leadership and hats off to Sow for some keys shots and rebounds down the stretch. Only player that didn’t play well was Clarke. Struggled shooting and handling the basketball. On to Sunday and the Red Foxes. Go Peacocks 🦚

The doofus who was running the clock for Mount was trying to play games, but kept getting caught because it was so obvious. He was either trying to cheat or was totally incompetent. Never saw so many time infractions in a game.

Back in the day, we had our own clock operator with some challenges. Was a heck of a nice guy (RIP) but chronically started the game clock late, bungled the shot clock reset, etc.
During a MAAC Tourney first round game, played at the higher seeds home court back then, he made two or three egregious clock mistakes, frustrating the officials. It was announced any future clock mishaps would result in a technical against the home team. We were playing poorly and in a close game in the 2nd half against a lower seed (Fairfield).
I attended games back then with Bob Jago and a priest from Bergen County, a good friend and SP grad who was benevolent to his flock but a no nonsense, fervent SP hoops fan. When the announcement was made warning about a technical, he lost it and loudly proclaimed, "If that guy f**ks up the clock one more time, I am going down there and kick the sh*t out of him"!

Loyal you brought back a lot of memories of Stevie K running the clock and I thought of his mishaps when they kept screwing up the clock last night. Also Bob Jago was a great Peacock fan and regular at the games as well.I was at that Fairfield game and we pulled it out thanks to Mitch Buona guru running out on the court when he thought they had upset us. The ref didn't want to call the technical but had to when Ted Fiore yelled it to him and pointed right at Buonaguro he had no choice but to call it.

One thing about the tv coverage of the game, it didn't show the shot clock. I guess it didn't have to with the camera mounted on top of the roof you could see the backboard. All the other ESPN games displayed the shot clock. You folks mentioned the time keeper. I noticed at the beginning it was a running clock like in soccer. If I had to listen to the play by play guy 24/7, I would disclose every secret information I had. All in all, a good game. Sloppy at times but a win is a win. I'm not sure what is going on with Clarke. Last 3 or 4 games has been struggling.
4 games remain, 3 at home. It starts with a very tough opponent in Marist Sunday.
Last thing, I'm with Youngalum on Quinnipiac. I personally like a 3 seed. Go Peacocks!

Hey Eport, I meant to say thank you. It was close. If I nailed it, I was gonna play the Powerball today.

I missed not having the shot clock, it's an important part of the game. Maybe it had something to do with Mounts clock system. The announcers sounded like they were smoking weed.

We were lucky that MSM was missing their best player. We will not go far expecting Washington and Reid to do all the scoring. Respectable game from Randolph and Sow, but Zeigler, and especially Clarke, need to be better. That said, excellent clutch play from Reid and Washington.
Watched FF and Quinnipiac as others did. FF is the most balanced team in the MAAC with anywhere from 4-5 players capable of putting up strong offensive numbers. I see them as our stiffest competition.
From my perspective, Leach of FF, James of Rider, and Leffew of MSM look like the league’s best players. Washington may be first team all MAAC but he is a notch below these three in ability. Peacocks are the most aggressive team in the MAAC on both sides of the ball while some teams like FF, Niagara, and Quinnipiac lose a level of intensity on defense. Looked like Houge was limping around last night on the bench. He could be out for longer than any of us would hope. Without him, Marist game is a toss up, with him, we win by 5 .
