SP at Marist. Marist 2 point favorite and lowest total of year 118.5. Will be a tough test on the road with injuries playing a big part. I think this game will be a rock fight and probably comes down to last man standing. A "run" in this game may possibly defined as 6-0 on either side. SP still alone in 2nd place in the MAAC with all the injuries and not playing well the last 4 or 5 games. Both teams should be ready and it will make a huge difference in seedings for the MAACT. Go Peacocks!

Expect it to be ugly. We do not value the ball nearly enough. We make too many of what I call Dusty Springfield passes (Wishin and Hopein). We force too much and make very risky plays. Last game bland might have been the biggest offender but he wasn’t alone by any means. As year goes along it shows that we still need a reliable shooter and some bulk in the middle. Vs rider canisius and Niagara their bigs gave us trouble just because of their bulk not necessarily their talent. Tomorrow first to 50 wins

Figgy with a Dusty Springfield shoutout! Love it. Who would have thunk great music comes to the MAAC?

Youngalum with the notes. Thank you. This guy MAACdaddy has been pretty accurate. However, he did whiff on the Canisius - SP pick. I agree it will be a sloooow and probably ugly game. I think Figgy id correct, first one to 50 wins. O/U is 119. Only way that goes over is with a lot of free throws (hence too many fouls). Hopefully, the refs let them play which will help the Peacocks. Let's get these guys in. Go Peacocks!

Solid half. Reid playing extremely well. How about Wood? Nice. So far, SP looks better than the last 2 weeks. Go Peacocks!

Still time to come back in this one but I think I’ll say what no one else is saying…the wheels are falling off the bus. Defense is no longer enough. If we can put the ball in the hoop, the defense won’t matter.

We continue to regress as we have been for several weeks. Team is asking Reid to do too much. Clarke and Bland need to be better. One good scoring game from each does not let them off the hook. Maybe these guys will show better when Washington comes back and the pressure is off them. Brutal stretch coming up, things could go south very quickly. Very small difference between the definition of success and failure for this team. Just don’t have enough good shooters. Ball handling remains a significant problem.

What are the thoughts on #10 Elijah Wood? 9 points, 3-4 from 3, 1 rebound, 1 assist off the bench. Liking his defense at the top of the 1-3-1 and 2-2-1 presses. Needs to foul less and attack more. Had a solid showing against Siena on defense and has since seemed to earn more minutes with Washington out. Bright spot in these losses. Thoughts??? Slim, welcome to the board. I thought Wood was pretty solid in his limited time. Hopefully, he continues to take advantage of the opportunities presented with the injury to Washington.

Welcome Slim. Wood played well. It looks like it came down to 3 point fgs. 12 for Marist, 7 SP. It's obvious SP misses Washington. Gonna be a tough stretch from here on. Quinnipiac, looks like the clear 1. Iona playing better. Even Manhattan is playing better. Its gonna be interesting in 5 weeks. The best thing for SP is to get healthy. Reid's fingers, Washington's shoulder. Hogue's leg.... on and on. Plenty of time. Go Peacocks!

Welcome Slim. Always nice to see another poster. Peacock had asked about Woods awhile back and I echoed his thoughts about wanting to see more. I was unable to watch the game today but looks like another solid contribution from him. Tall guard that can hit the 3 and cause matchup problems. Perhaps he can start to gain Coach’s trust with Washington out and Randolph role being reduced. Saw we were up at half, must have been a bad 20 minutes.

We’ve regressed principally because rotation players 8/9/10 are being asked to play major minutes.
We are who we are, limited offensively and the late preseason injury to our starting PG was a killer.
The MAAC has no powerhouse team, our current lineup will admittedly not make much noise going forward. But, IF our two starting forwards are 100% in six weeks, I think SP has as good a chance as anyone in AC.🎲.

Well said Loyal. As of today, Quinnipiac is the odds on favorite to get a bid. However, I think when slick Rick was rehabbing at Iona, they were odds on favorite. SP will be a major thorn in the MAAC. Let's get healthy above all. Go Peacocks!
