I'm stunned. SP 8 fgs, 6 turnovers v Siena's JV team. Siena, 12 fgs (60%), 11 turnovers. SP 28%. If Siena had their starters, we would be down 15. Ok, the good news, Siena cant continue 60%. Also, surely SP can play better. SP should be up at least 15.

Not easy to keep the faith when you see a half of basketball as bad as this. Look very much like the preseason 10th place prediction.

No way around it we look pathetic. Need to turn it around in the 2nd half or the outlook on the season really takes a turn.

We’ll be lucky to escape with the W today. This is as bad as some of the Dunne years.

A win is a win, especially on the road. We let a depleted 3-16 team hold us even for most of the game. Ugly.

Play like we did today and you won’t see us in the win column again this season. Boy do we miss Washington.

Definitely wasn’t pretty but it is a win. Would have been awful had we not closed out today. Let’s get healthy and regroup.

Have to agree with Gary and youngalum.. Play like this again and no Washington and we don’t win again this season.

Yes it was one of the worst games but how many remember another Siena game back a few years ago. I believe it was a tournament game. Just to get criticisms, I think the blame belongs to Mason and Reid, Reid tried early to do everything Minimal attempt to get anything going. Not to say he didn't win the game for us but coupled with Mason changing lineups every few minutes, no one could get comfortable on the floor. Reid had little trust in others and the others had little time to acclimate themselves. Very little attempts to set anybody up. And why no one is saying any comments on Sow. Why does he take a three with ample time left. No idea why he cant make layups.

Peacock, agree Sow did not have a good game. Beside the 3 pt attempt he missed multiple bunnies inside. Surprised to see he got 30 to Roberts 10 minutes. Sow has shown the ability to play better and he needs to if we are going to be a threat this year.

Peacock, I've said I have wondered why Sow even attempts a 3 pointer is beyond me. ESPECIALLY with 17+ seconds on the shot clock. The only 3 pointer he should take is a desperation shot clock violation.
Folks, that was painful to watch. I know you folks realize that Siena was without 3 or 4 starters. Fortunately for SP, Siena only scored 1 point in the last 9 minutes or it very well could have been a different outcome. I'll be honest, SP hasn't looked sharp for 3 or 4 games. Siena only had 6 fgs in second half. Reid had to take up the slack for Washington in scoring. 21 points speaks for itself. I didn't see the Keane game, but Keane had to be better than today's Siena team.
Luckily Niagara comes to town and they are extremely inconsistent. MH beat them today. Niagara throttled FF. Beat Rider there. Lost to Siena at home. This is another game I have no idea what to expect on Friday. However, as Bluebird said, a win is a win. Stand alone 2nd place in the MAAC, with a great opportunity Friday night. Go Peacocks!

It takes a good team to shoot poorly, play ugly and still win on the road. Winning on the road is always a good win, even against Siena. Siena had two of their best players out, but we also had two of our key players out. Can't wait for Washington and Houge to rejoin the team.

Let me start by saying that I am glad that we didn’t play Kean on Sunday and were lucky enough to be playing Siena. Maybe, I am not giving some of the MAAC bottom feeders enough credit. While I feel we played poorly at Manhattan, I caught the overtime period yesterday of Manhattan beating a solid Niagara team at Niagara. Manhattan looked respectable to my surprise. So while I thought we stunk up Albany on Sunday, maybe we are underestimating Siena a bit, at least I hope so. Siena caught every break possible. Every tipped rebound or tipped pass found their way to Siena for easy baskets or easy stops. The only ball to bounce our way was the most important one that went to Clarke on the missed jumper under our basket in crunch time.
Some takeaways from Sunday. Our lack of ball movement on offense, especially down the stretch, is very concerning. Stagnation on offense is happening way too frequently and needs to change. With such a heavy emphasis on defense and rebounding, our offensive schemes may be getting too little internal attention. Our bigs, who are respectable foul shooters, need to dunk every shot close to the rim. We miss way too many finesse shots down low. Go to the rack and finish or get fouled. We must have given away ten points on Sunday on what should have been easy baskets.

Question I had about yesterdays game. Why weren’t we pressing/trapping like we normally do? I know we did some but not as much as other games. With Siena having a depleted roster i thought they would be ripe for turnovers. Even the announcers mentioned they were surprised at one point.
