Had to get Quinn in headline . Peacocks are one tough team but no doubt who their leader is . We didn't win two this week so he probably won't get Player of the Week but he should . And shows you how stats can be useless if some supposed experts can put 16 guys on an all -star team and not have a Peacock there . One tough edition of the Peacocks .

But I will agree with how important Cameron was to this great win . Good to see F Drame starting to play better basketball and to hear all those glowing words from announcers about KC .

Nice wn and everyone had a great game but I also think that Quinn Taylor deserves a special shout out. A few Seasons ago I labeled Quinn ( as Loyal knows ) "Mr Intangible". He is in the image of players like Chris Smith, Chazz and perhaps one or two others whose contributions can never be seen in the box score. Quinn was all of that today. Our Team is very lucky to have him and he is fun to watch, taking charges , rebounding and keeping the ball alive off the boards....a pleasure.
Great win but on the negative side we had 19 turnovers again. Costa this Team 8 to 10 points a game. Without Lee Monmouth smartly tried to trap our ball handlers. But that did not even account for the bulk of our turnovers. Our individual players make some God awful passes outside of that. And I only partially buy that they are Freshmen. All have been playing basketball a good portion of their lives and should be more skilled/knowledgeable about taking care of the ball. Guess it's a work in progress but this aspect, as many have posted, needs a big improvement lest we give up scoring possibilities via silly turnovers.
Spoke with a few of our faithful fans and we all agree that Majur is showing slow but steady improvement. He has always been very active on defense showing mobility and court awareness. Offense is still the problem as well as learning to get position inside. Yet he is looking better each game. Hope the improvement continues.

Great win in front of nice crowd in West Long Branch.Thought a couple of the calls were pretty poor especially in the first half but we played one of the finest all around half's of basketball I've witnessed at SPU in years.
Great play by Quinn Taylor and Cam Jones in the second half as they stepped up like seniors do to lead the team.Aaron Estrada and F. Drame played very well in the 2nd half.Great defensive intensity in the second half.Overheard a local next to me who coaches at the shore talking to his friend beside him commenting about St Peters getting to every 50-50 ball both defensively and on the glass. He was highly complimentary of our guys effort and the coaching staff getting the most out of the players with hard work on the defensive end and the boards.
Have to give a shout out to KC Ndefo who played one of the best defensive games I've witnessed at SPU back to the days of the great Marvin Andrews the best defender I've ever witnessed at SPU.Ndefo continually denied them at the rim and did a great job against their bigs inside as well.

Have to agree...the second half defense was the best of the season...against a talented offensive club.
The cumulative second season record for recent SPU coaches was 9-27....and one of those seasons featured Kee Kee. The Peacocks are currently 8-5....and now .500 overall when including a very solid OOC schedule.
Impossible to overstate the quality job Coach Holloway has done in a very short time. God bless Sha....and Bryan Felt. 👍

Quinn is our most under-herald player. Pound for pound, he is the toughest player we have. All out effort every minute he is on the floor. He is the heart and soul of the team. Absolutely selfless.
Maybe for the first time this year, we got solid contributions from three of our upperclassmen in the same game. (Whatever happened to Bostic?). We finally got something out of Woods. He made critical shots in the second half of the Monmouth game. He has a lot of scoring ability, but his defense is lazy, he is turnover prone , and certainly always in foul trouble. He could be a great asset if he ever got his act together. If this senior group all play to their potential, we could be one of the favorites to advance to the post season. Our under-classmen have carried us this far, it would be nice to see the older guys stand up and be counted.

Agree with dreamweaver but in Woods defense he is really a forward drawn into playing Center over the last two years given our lack of size....often overmatched even at listed 6'8". Also threw one of the most beautiful passes inside in the second half when double teamed for an easy score.
Another word about Quinn Taylor. Read Sha's comments about him....very nice.

Probably a number of fans here have watched the replay already . For those who have not I would strongly recommend watching the last sixteen minutes . It is always a joy to watch outstanding basketball played by a talented and hard-nosed team . When that team is the one you root for, it is even more special . We did not score more points in this second half than we did in that great second half against Siena but that one was at home and against a lesser team than Monmouth .
I would particularly pay close attention to the fast break executed by the Peacocks with around 14:30 to go in the game . The irrepressible Quinn gets a defensive rebound , dribbles to about half court and off the dribble throws a long on the button pass to KC who in stride leaps to catch it in two hands and in one motion passes it with perfection to a wide open Cameron who naturally drains the three . I had the pleasure to watch in person many , many of those thrilling fast breaks by Don Kennedy's " Run , Baby , Run " teams . This was only one play but I really believe that there were none of the probably hundreds and hundreds , if not thousands, of fast breaks that we thrilled to in that era that exceeded that one Sunday in beauty of execution . KC's part in that play reminded me of the great play by Edert earlier in the season where with time running out he got a rebound around his knees and had the court intelligence to just flip it up toward the basket . The ball hit off the rim , we got it back and scored . You don't teach the kind of moves made by KC and Doug . Coaching and practice may help but that is just hoops intelligence and instincts displayed by two players .
These frosh and sophs may still have a number of those learning moments . I anticipated from very early in the season what fun this team could be in terms of depth and fun . They have exceeded that anticipation by a whole lot . It is really difficult for me to comprehend the improvement of the Drame twins and Majur in what seems like only a matter of weeks .
In between those great wins , Peacocks threw in a clunker against the Red Foxes . But how much of a clunker was it really ? It was a road game after the middle of a long season .We did not have Lee . And Marist just plain beat us as players executed JD's half court defense very well . And , make no mistake about it , Red Foxes have four players in Cubbage , Herasme , Jones and Bell .
