Rutgers game is telecast at 7PM this evening on BTN......Channel 382 for Time Warner in NYC and 413 on Monmouth Cablevision.
SPU opens up a 10 point underdog.
"Up" games like this one, Seton Hall....very tough to win on our best day.....without Desi will be a real challenge. RU threw in a clinker vs. St. Francis of Brooklyn Sunday; I assume Jordan will have been all over them and have the Knights ready for tonight.
For me, the December "exhibition season"......except for the Canisius game.....is all about seeing if time allows Q to recover from his very limiting injury and the club developing some sort of chemistry on the offensive end of the floor.
I do not think we have a roster of all league players, but right now our Peacocks are underachieving, IMO. Hoping for a good effort and a healthy Q tonight.

Managed to win in the 50's last time v RU. Don't know that game will stay that low again. Hopefully Trevis can direct things better. It may be that Desi was his security blanket but he has to learn to trust Ty, Chazz and those guys have to play with confidence. Staff should encourage aggressive play on offense by these guys. Let em shoot- if they miss so what tentative play loses anyway. The staff recruited these guys I presume for a reason, to treat them like they can't play either means they're being wasted or you recruited wrong. Hope to see more of Boone too. We'll see

Agree with both comments above especially figgy's that we need to play with a much more aggressive, attacking attitude. Not sure why we haven't but as Cindy reported after our first loss that the staff was quite upset that players were passing up open looks too much. Strange to me because defensively that intensity seems to be there. Plays and offensive schemes are nice but playing winning basketball, on any level, needs an aggressive mentality of "taking your man on". We show flashes of that in both Marvin and Boone and when Trevis and Jamel drive to the hoop. On the positive side, Tyler is shooting more and so isChazz. Hopefully, we are getting closer to that agressive and attacking level. Looking to see if it comes through tonight.

Our best defensive half this year. We have even hit a few threes. Gaskins has only hit one though. He keeps chucking it, however. A few are bound to fall. Let's hope they keep it up in the 2nd half.

Good D by Peacocks; suspect RU has contracted SPU's shooting coach?
Up 12. Again, good hustle on D; getting every loose ball, sort of like the Purps did against us. SPU led by Marvin, with Wyche playing a good floor game against Mack so far. Patterson and Boone have hit threes when their defenders backed off.
Could EASILY be up 20, but Gaskins and Hester are 0-7 on WIDE OPEN three point shot attempts. Gaskins, over the course of his time here, cannot throw the ball in the ocean from the proverbial pier. Time to move on, says Coach Loyal.
RU playing matador defense so far; expect it to tighten up significantly in the second half. Knights came out flat as a pancake, defying my prediction about Jordan having them ready after the poor effort against SFNY.
Whistle will undoubtedly go against us in the second half. We'll need someone other than Marvin to light it up.
At the very least, this half offers a glimmer of hope the club can turn it around. Q still moving rather stiffly, though.

Coach Loyal must have missed a Gaskins three. :-)

We are missing a lot of shots ( as Loyal points out ) but we are taking then....keep firing! So far, in the first half, we are playing that aggressive style of play that I had hoped for. Everyone playing well. Hope we continue our agressive play in the second half.
Have to feel for Desport. Seems to never get the benefit of the call...thought he took a perfect charge.
Have no idea about Q's health status but Loyal is right....not ready yet. Hope it's temporary. Q's too much of a force not to be a big offensive threat. Looks like JD is trying to bring him along slow...good idea.

Fields cant guard Mack.
Took a long time for Jordan to dial up the pressure; circa Cluess (bless his soul) in '11.
We will be challenged to hang on with Knights pressing and an unfriendly whistle. Loooooong way to go.

Rutgers making sure Marvin is blanketed.
Let's see if our complimentary players can keep it going for another 10 minutes.

Up 13; 8 minutes left.
Keeping poise on the offensive end......Wyche with an excellent floor game; Marvin great pass out of a double team for a Patterson three.

Guys playing great and tough. Worry about Q and his unknown status. Pre-season I was hoping that everything would go through him and Marvin...inside out game. We're playing excellent perimeter ball tonight but we do need that inside game. Speaking of intensity, we have that tonight.

Up 13 with four minutes left.
In the double bonus.
Doubling Mack is causing RU to use a lot of clock.
Need to make our FT's in the close out phase here.
